Grass is greener eh?

We would never have let Arenas go Cuz we never would play rookies.

We never would let Jamison go, cuz we dont cut payroll.

we never whould have Murphy, Dunlevy, Arenas, Jamison, Speedy, Dampier, pietrus cuz they were rookies once upon a time.

Nice names, but they still sucked.

Mental Masterbation to swap rosters and think otherwise.

Oh, yeah, and they ain't Marbs! And they Ain't got no "Isiah". With Isiah, all things are possible! Not probable, just possible.

Hmmm, good question to ponder. Here is a link to some salary and roster info.

I would not swap rosters, just because a team has a roster full of draft picks does not mean their future is bright, teams like Golden state have a bunch of picks becuase the picks they previously had were not good enough to keep them out of the lottery!! I like Jason Richardson a lot, and murphy and foyle and Dampier are decent players but that is about it. I am not wetting my draws over Michael DuMBleavy, or Pietrus, I want to win, and you win with good players, not potential of average players becomming Better average players....

I'd do it....simply because it would mean a rebuilding of the team. I think it would set us back a few years but the Knicks would have a good young base of players and a managable cap situation.

You also have the possiblitly of adding 2 max players through free agency after a year to the team. That potential is nice.

tough one... GS has a ton more flexibility, but dont have many players worth keeping or building around. I like Pietrus. I think Richardson is a good scorer on a bad teamand does well playing meaningless games that allow him to shoot the ball 20 times a game and not play defense.

Who knows what Van Ex has left, I like Murphy but he's coming off and injury year and the cap space doesnt impress me because the list of FAs is just bad.

I would probably say GS if I had the NY (meaning money) assets to work with.

You could offer $3 mill to Cha if they take Cliff Robinson. That would give you enough cap space to sign Kobe (he would come to NY for a max deal assuming he's NG). Maybe sign Blount to be center, then the next year get Kmart or something like this.

There's one problem, and Chi learned that cap space is nice but it doesnt mean your getting stud FAs to come and play for you.

NY's situation isnt ideal, thats for sure. Its exasperated by Houston and Shandon's deals, but I think we can do some things. Heck, I think if we do very little we will be a solid team next year, but this isnt worth debating... lets just wait and see

Golden State is actually better than us right now-thats the difference playing in the vs w in the e GS . GS in the east wins 45 games and is a 4 seed. Just think about when we played GS we were thuroughly rocked. In fact I cant remember the last time we beat GS? 3 years ago?

they have a nice foundation a real nice foundation.

the question really shouldve asked--who is a better team right now and who is in better position to improve? NY in the west doesnt have a snowballs chance for an 8 tseed

the problem with gstate is that they also HAD a nice foundation last season (arenas and jamison) and they got rid of both. jrich looks to be the next to go since they'll go with pietrus. so do they give big money to murphy? i don't think he's worth it.

"they have a nice foundation a real nice foundation."

And that would be what? The same great foundation they have had the last 10 years? Wake up dude.

ON a side note the Warriors were 23-29 vs. the West and 14-16 vs. the East. Thats a whopping 3% increase to their winning % from 44 to 47 vs. the East.

4th seed indeed.

if the question is who is in better position to improve its not even close. NY.

Here's a newsflash: dampier had a career year, was one of the better centers in the NBa and he's leaving. So is Foyal. Thier draft pick is around 10-11, and their cap space means doo doo unless they can get a good player in a trade from a team looking to dump salary.

However NO FA will want to go there and the team has tons of frontcourt issues. Their 2 best players in Pietrus and Richardson play the same position.

well there are many proclaiming we will win 50 games next year. I just wanted to compare and contrast the Warrior roster with ours since they are a supposed doormat. I keep looking at our roster and Im confused. When I look at the Warrior roster I see a ray of light. It's a good thing we are in the east, that all I will say!

but what does the warriors being doormats have to do with us winning 50 games in the east???

i am...i root for the Knicks cuz they're my hometown team...not because of the players they have...otherwise, i would have given up that loyalty years ago...i don't care WHO the Knicks have on their roster, i'll always be a Knicks fan.

Let's compare rosters

SG H20-JRich-edge JRich-not the shooter but better all around player
PG Steph-NVE-no contest Marbury
C Nazr-Dampier-no contest and in NY would keep Dampier
SF TT-Dunleavy-toss up-TT better scorer,neither sure of
what a rebound looks like-slight edge TT
PF KT-Robinson-Again no contest KT clear edge

Bench-Again no contest with Sweets FWill DeMarr v Foyle Claxton Murphy Petrius Edge to Knx on talent of the Sweets and FWill vs. depth of Warriors

Would love to have flexibility of Warriors but would stick with Knx
