All this talk of Melo's worth had me thinking. In the modern salary cap era, has any team with a 20M+ a year player won a championship? I gotta think yes, but I wonder who and how many. Help me out. Is is viable for any player to make 20M or more and the team to win a Championship?

I think Shaq did....others?

I got no problem with a player making 20mil+ But when it's been proven that that player needs hell at multiple positions is not smart to tie up $25-30mil in that one player

But if the goal is to fill seats and just make the playoffs and too Forbes list then you can call it a success

duncan had about 5 seasons where he was > 20 but did not win those years

Duncan hasn't won in a while but when he did he probably made over 20 but he's Tim Duncan and the cap has been lowered

Dunan makes about 10mil. He got his money and took the concession because he knows that contending or money was his choice if he wanted to stay With SAS. Dude is not typical. Granted this is an older Duncan who is prolonging a career. He and SAS have a sort of partnership. Pretty cool relationship in my book.
