The nets have the better players and have figured out how to execute around the length of Detroit. looks like Nets Indiana for the marbles.

Look at the difference between the Detroit wins and the NJ wins....

New Jersey is a really ****y team. I never seen a team get that giddy during a NBA game. They were so close to taunting it was incredible.

Good series so far.

The pressure is now on Detroit to bounce back at home. NJ has the momentum.

Although I hate the Nets, I'm almost rooting for them to beat the Pistons. If the season ends on a bad note for Sheed, he's playing poorly, and they lose in the second round, we have a much better shot at signing him for the MLE. It's still a longshot but his family may like NY better and Dumars may not be so inclined to choose Sheed over Okur

Why do you guys want sheed? the guy has become a jump shooting big man, we have enough of those, sheed will occasionaly get the put back dunk or the occasional oop, but the guy is not a post factor anymore IMO.. I would rather focus my attention on a guy like Tyson chandler...

Ray I agree, but you know I haven't seen anything at all from Okur that leads me to believe that he deserves any more than the MLE. Maybe other teams will differ, but I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit signs Rasheed and lets Okur go if another team wants to throw more than the MLE at him.

if sheed plays poorly against the Nets, why should we want him?

if he cant do it in detroit, where he is basically allowed to play however he wants and has ben wallace covering for him on defense, why do we want sheed?

it's all about performance in the post season.

silly silly man, you look for upgrades at a single position but forget that basketball is a team sport. one man can't win but they sure can decrease the chance for a team to win by ruining the flow of the game just like that stupid mut, marbury. bang bang. no disrespect to marb from a die hard knicks fan. congrats to him for the invites to the olympics.
Frank Williams is the best knicks player this year. mad Respect

yea.. the only thing stopping Sheed is Sheed. The bottom line is he's a superior talent and he's incredibly versatile. He can defend 3 positions and score from anywhere on the floor. His range would make him a deadly combo w/ MArbury in the half court.

scary thing about the nets is that kristic is for real he can really move for a 7 foot player and they will go big in the draft IMHO again and could come out with a player like Ramos

id rather have kmart than sheed any day + nazr and sweetney are not even Cs.

they better do well in the draft because keeping KMart and Jefferson isnt realistic, unless the new owner is ok with losing $20 mill a year.

Briggs, big prediction now they one two games in a row.

Maybe if sheed gets a leg blown off, we can get him for the minimum!

That Planter thing is nasty. I wonder if Camby still has it. It shut down Glen Rice.

Okur is about potential. He will get market value if there is a market. That was real stupid comment, oh jeez I sound like Bill Walton.

you have to be kidding me. they are paying those two guys they are not in bad financial condition. they gernerated something like an additional 30mm $ each of the last two years going to the finals. without those guys, it would be very difficult. they have tremendous cap room in 05-06 even if they sign K mart to a max contract.

for the nets to re-sign both kmart and rj will probably not happen. that's a lotta money. and you know rj is gonna demand at least 8 mil/year. rj is easier to replace.

that's what i'm waiting for, for rj to come back to the garden and talk about the rivalry with the knicks, wearing an atlanta hawks jersey.

not Kidding at all. Starting 05/06 as you say can the Nets afford to Kidd, Mourning, Kmart and Jefferson a combined $52 mill?? Cause thats what your looking at. Scratch Zo and its still $47 mill. Are the other 8 roster spots just going to be veteran minimum players? The Nets arent the Mavs. Kidd will be 34 at that point with 4 years and $70 mill left.

The Nets best chance of keeping both is matching low value offers for both, but either way it will be tough.

I think the $30mm for the playoff runs is an overestimate. This is NJ not NY... the same #s dont apply.

RJ is easy to replace? huh can you find me an RJ or 2 for the Knicks? RJ and Kmart are NOT replacble.

even if they pay max $ to both they have a cap # of 47mm in 05/06 with a payroll that probably matches the 62mm spent the last few years. they will likely have to go up 7 mm or so next year, but their roster is going to the ECF or NBA finals for the near future.
