There are 2 players in the league averaging 12 rebounds - but Cole a 3rd stringer could do it easily? I like that they are giving him a chance but let's see if he can contribute consistently before we decide he's one of the best rebounders in the league.

His rebounding rate/% does make this a valid prediction.

We would need to see if he can earn enough playing time. If he can then he should be able to rebound at a very high rate.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Based on his per 36 #s, he'd need at least 40 or maybe 44 mpg to get 12 rbs.
He's a good player who has been badly underused his whole career, though. I'm not criticizing him here.

I was going by career #s and assuming a small decrease in production with increased minutes. Even without that assumption, he'd still need 38 mpg to get 12 rbs. Most starters get around 30 mpg and I'd see him averaging around 8 and 10.

so you do believe in diminished returns? Thought you vehemently rejected that.

10 rebs per? I'll take it. Deal?

I think they're vastly exaggerated, not that they don't exist.

ok ... at least you believe that they do exist.

Also, remember ... the knicks defensive reb opportunities are pretty bad.

1. the offense rarely misses
2. Melo being the top dog gets the right to grab the free rebounds (just like him shooting technicals over Calderon)

Cole is a damn good rebounder ... how good? Hopefully we will get to find out.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

22 minutes:

10 points (ON 5-6)
4 rebounds
2 assists (same as melo yet Melo had 3 turnovers while Cole had 0)
1 block (and many other contests (which no other knick is willing to do)

many tipped balls to keep play alive that is not on the sheet

+11 (while no other knicks were on the + side

SIT HIM!!!

Knicks got 17 assists total and 7 total from their three point guards. Wiz got 16 assists from their starting backcourt.

Karma. Cole was a very bad man in his former life. He is repaying for his sins in this one. He knows this about himself. It makes him stoic and accepting that he will never be recognized for his greatness.

^^^Seems like there should have been a Knick teammate or two over to support Acy. Every Wizard on the floor except for Wall helped to restrain Acy.

On tv he was walking with Acy, shoulder to shoulder and in his ear but he didn't enter the fray by any means.

What did he say?

Well in the mix of saying "Fans Are Dying We're Dying" & "It'll Get Better In 2015"

"My responsibility is to take care of [Acy] and the right thing to do

Is to take him away from everybody and walk on the sideline,’’

Melo took his sweet time getting to this point

But paint himself a Leader he will
