Why are Steven A Smith and Ryan Roucco talking about how the Knicks should sign him if they fire Woodson? Did he get fired by GS?

dunno, but I just found this from 2 months ago. You could write pretty much the same about Woodson. Maybe he'd fit right in here

Tactically, this team is a mess. Against bad teams, the team's superior passing makes this irrelevant, but against good defenses things get really ugly. The team reverts to isos despite not having particularly good isolation players. The bench unit hardly even looks like it's trying to run an offense at all, resulting in ugly turnovers as players who shouldn't be creating one-on-one have no choice but to try. The failure to install a second-unit offense is squarely on the coach.

Mark Jackson doesn't have the slightest clue as to when to call timeouts, and his management of rotations makes no sense at all. He either runs players into the ground, or goes full bench mob, which is entirely ineffective, when some simple changes (running Draymond more with the starters, Lee and Iguodala with the bench) would seem to be logical improvements.

Mark Jackson's calling card has supposedly been his ability to be a motivator, but the reality is that this team has not been showing up regularly. The slow starts are on the coach. How often have you ever seen a Popovich, Jackson, or Riley coached team just not show up for the first quarter? The Warriors already have multiple losses against teams they should beat simply because they couldn't be bothered to show up until the second quarter.

don't know what that site is, but after reading a little seems the writer is on a one man crusade. Dosn't seem to be very credible.

Bill Simmons said yesterday they might fire Jackson because they thought they had a Championship team this year..They went all in with Iggy, trading 2 first rounders to clear space to sign him(I thought only the Knicks do stuff like that)..The thinking now is that Jackson is holding them back...I personally thought they over achieved last year..

Yeah I read this somewhere on Hoopsworld/Hoopshype earlier in the year. They have had their own issues w/ awful people in their FO - Rowell - so this wouldn't surprise me.

I'd hope Dolan would relieve Woodson and hire Jackson for at least the consistent 2 yr stint. Seriously though, I like Jackson and I hope this happens.

I have to say I was a big proponent of hiring Jackson over MDA but seeing him the last two years in huddles, it's not about X's and O's..It's more motivational stuff he is spewing..I think the Knicks need more than a motivator...

Lets bring him in so we can hate him!

The "anybody but Woodson" stuff is typical for a team underachieving as we are. I like Jax and his cred before he got hired was "inexperienced" so its not hard to see why they are disappointed in him and the team. The rah-rah stuff lasts only so long.

Maybe let him get his experience and then come here and "master" his craft. Dolan will need to counter Nets hiring of Kidd so i would not put it past him to starphuch him. "Coming home". Bring Mully back to NYC while we at it. Can Walter Berry still play?

You're right w/ the grass is always greener stuff, but I think a Coach like Jackson would be good for this group in terms of accountability and unfortunately it seems like it'll be the same group of players next season, so I'd be fine w/ it.

It's pretty evident that this group has tuned out Woody, whether it's deserved or not, and he needs to go. I have never been a believer in Woodson and that's not to say I think Jackson will be a great Coach, but let's be real - Woodson has shown all he's gonna show. At least Jackson has room to improve.

Agree w/ Holfresh in ultimately wanting more of an X's and O's type Coach though and if Thibs is an actually possibility I would take him over anyone.

Would love to MJax back in NY. Also, he might be the only guy that could get Tyson back to form. I think he would do a great job. Even if he didn't I wouldn't hate him. Do Laker fans hate Magic because he tried to coach?

Mark Jackson would be great.

Can he bring Steph Curry, David Lee, harrison Barnes, Andre Igoudala and Klay Thompson along with him?

Jackson is definitely missing Malone (who seemed to handle most of the GS strategy last year and who has had mixed results as the head coach at the Kings this year) and, yes, GS has some serious problems with their offense this year. That said, I'd take Jackson over Woodson any day.

Jax is missing his deputy dog. Kidd got rid of his dog and he got paid 6mil for his summer work. Damn.

Seems all we say about Jax is what woodson bought when he took over for MDA. Accountabilty, Defensive intensity and the brotherhood of man.

18-6
54-28

Then wha'appen? Short shelf life?

Im sure some will be like "Jax knows NYC, he knows what it wants......coming home.......Etc.

Jackson has Curry, Klay, Barnes, and Lee all playing excellent defense. Those 4 have always been sub par defenders. If we had Mark Jackson, he could turn us around as well. Woodson and all his supporters can kiss my ass.
