After releasing Ben Gordon, the Charlotte Bobcats will use the roster spot to sign 7-foot Justin Hamilton to a 10-day contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Hamilton, who averages 19 points and nine rebounds for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League, is expected to sign the contract on Tuesday, sources said.

Hamilton was a second-round pick of the Miami Heat (via Philadelphia) in 2012. He played his college basketball at Iowa State and LSU.

Gordon couldn't reach an agreement with a playoff-bound team to get eligible for a postseason roster before Saturday's deadline, so contenders are no longer interested in signing him. Nevertheless, there is interest among some non-playoff bound teams, sources said, and Gordon is weighing those opportunities against sitting out the rest of the season and preparing for summer free agency.

Charlotte is 27-31 and holding onto seventh place in the Eastern Conference playoff chase.

Great signing in my opinion. Really wish the Knicks would have given him a shot.

So Heat traded for him and didnt sign him I guess

Briggs was big on him and his ability to shoot the ball as a PF/C prior to being drafted
I think he can be a solid player, he looked comparable to Chris Kaman *who was once a 20/10 guy with 2 blocks*

very surprised we have yet to sign Bobby Brown

Not sure if Bobby Brown would sign with us since we likely are not making playoffs

but

would he sign with us with a 2nd year team option or partial guaranteed?
No sense to audition him if he would not be part of our future plans though at this point, winning some games would help the confidence of CA staying if we can make a late run like last year

Ben Gordon back to NY? *he cannot compete in the playoffs, Bobcats screwed him, so wondering if he would sign a 2year team option deal, coming back as a native NYK*
Cole Alrich will never get to play at this point, yet Kmart/AB aren't even back

If we are not making playoffs, it would be foolish to not waive both Kmart and Cole Alrich, if they are not in the plans of our future (though we would have the early bird rights to Kmart *so we can use him in sign and trades if Melo walks*

But I don't know what going on with Cole Alrich, we don't have a team option on him the 2nd year, and I don't know if he would sign with us again given his limited opportunity to play
Even Murry at this point, I don't think they both would resign with us, rather just sign players that would sign with us for a team option for 2nd year
Possibly using them in sign and trades next year

Also wanted to know if both Earl Clark and Shannon Brown would be part of our future plans or not, especially Earl Clark, both currently on 10day deals...

Some players I like include

Jordan Henriquez PF/C *his length and athleticism to go with potential, though needs to be developed* was on Houston's SummerLeague

Jamelle Hagins‎ PF/F *under rated ll round proven 4year player was a TOP SHOT BLOCKER/REBOUNDER, can also post, good footwork, and all round game* comparable to a young Kmart/Trevor Booker

Ivan Johnson PF/C Ex Hawk

Chris Johnson PF/C ex Twolve

Devin Ebanks G/F SF ex Laker 6-9 SF

I think Brown is still in China for the playoffs for a few more games. He is represented by CAA so that might help. The euro basket sight for Asia lists guys agents. It is a pretty cool site. Knicks missed out on Hamilton.

Update on Brown. He is in the playoffs until at least 3/7.
