The New York Knicks are expected to pursue a trade of Amar'e Stoudemire in the offseason before he enters the final season of his contract.

The Knicks hope they could exchange Stoudemire for the contract of an impact player on a bad contract, such as Eric Gordon of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Expiring contracts have seemingly become less valuable under the NBA's current CBA.

Trading Stoudemire for a contract longer in length would also compromise the Knicks' plans for cap space in 2015.

WWII berman has said that mills was behind the Dyess trade so this makes sense. Maybe the Knicks get the rights to Pierre Jackson in a deal for Gordon.

or maybe a combination of players that go beyond 2015 like

Eric Gordon *Gordon hasn't looked like the same player since he was last on the Clippers, how much of it is his injuries and if he can recover to his PG/SG role while on the Clippers*

Tyreke Evans *overpaid but he does have the ability to handle the ball, penetrate and finish, and can be a decent versatile defender at the PG/SG and G/F's*

Ryan Anderson *if he can get past his injuries, he can be a solid 3pt specialist with the ability to rebound, can beat his man off the dribble with certain matchups if shot is contested, and is average defender, similar to AB but I guess he is an upgrade in all area's from him. His injuries are a great concern though* PF/C

Would love Pierre Jackson in there

(unlikely with Jrue Holiday unless his injury is VERY severe)

Fasten Your Seat Belts

The 2014-2015 Knicks may rival the Sixers of 1972-73, which produced the lowest winning percentage for an 82-game season in league history, .110.

It may be a bumpy ride.

It would be ironic if we sign Ryan Anderson because he's pretty much Kevin love without half the talent. Can't get the big-names, go for the ultra-lite versions, fans will never know the difference

That's how guys like Bargnani, eddy curry mcdyess, Francis, Marbury get here. Using expiring contracts to build a team of injury riddled players and malcontents. We never learn

Please god just instill in the Knicks thick heads to justet bem come off the books and use cap space and picks not their expiring contracts pleaseeee

Typical. With Dolan and the Knicks its like trying to pry a car away from a drunk driver.

The Sum Of All Fears

Over the past four days, our beloved Knicks have had their chops busted by three opponents, in front of three national television networks - TNT on Thursday, ESPN Friday and ABC on Sunday.

Those aggregated losing performances, and the unanimous negative commentary, is unprecedented. The brand has become a textbook example of how to destroy a modern pro sports franchise.

Next season, barring a miracle, expect more of the same, with or without Carmelo Anthony.

Which brings us to Knicks fans. Not the people who sit courtside, looking for face time or stopping by 7th Avenue on the way to the next event,... the basketball fans who breathe NYKnicks basketball.

Can you sit quietly and absorb another season of deflating performances?

Is that the only choice?

I can get aggravated and annoyed and try not to forget what it was like to watch Towel Head Vasiline Marbles and the ghost of Stevie Franchise.

Blue and Orange.
Where else you gonna go? Toronto? tkfland?

If we can get a top 3 pick and have max cap space for 2015 and the right person is brought on as GM--then I can sit and watch quietly. Any band aid regimen will not be acceptable. Its ok to take lumps for a couple of more years IF the goal is to be good for the 10 years following. My bet is 90% of fans would accept a sht season with the rebuilding process.

Tyson basically said he wants out- if we can get a 1st rounder or two for him that pleases me.

Worst move is re-signing Melo- not because he's to blame but because there's no way he's returning for another losing season- we'd make awful offseason moves to try and placate him.

Man, it's going to be painful when Melo walks and we hand over the no. 1 pick to Denver (and another in 2016!)
