Honestly.. thank god for his father, because the Knicks are going to wreck this kid. He had a nice role in 20mpg off the bench. Get some shooting, some quick offense, an athletic guy on the fast break...

This take your lumps philosophy is failing. Look at THjr's stats for Feb

There is too much he doesnt do to be getting that many minutes. He doesnt board, he doesnt create plays... he can score and shoot it. He's getting exposed right now and its going to hurt his confidence.

Im not has high on him (next Ray Allen, untradable future all star) as some, but I do view him a rotation player for years to come whether its starting at SG or JR's type of role. Ive watched this team screw up Shump and looks like THrj is next in the queue

I'm all for young guys getting minutes and learning from their mistakes- but I think you're right - they've pushed him too far, and he's hit a wall.

Yet, Tyler, Murray can't get minutes. Its a bit crazy.

At some point, I'm going to probably become a brooklyn net fan by default.

He really needs a backcourt mate that can set him up. Righ now he is just a gunner. Really would have been nice to see him run with a Lin type PG

He needs to improve in those areas whether he plays 20 or 40 minutes. It's not like rebounding is unimportant in your first 20 minutes.

I agree w/ the premise, but Shump always seems to get inconsistent mins, whereas THJ is getting more and there are def many negatives to his game. Shump being injured could be an excuse for the increased mins.

It doesn't even matter anymore, this team is done and has packed it in w/ 20+ games still to go. What kind of message is that to the young guys on this roster? Woodson has no business being the Coach next season.

The system has a lot to do with it. If THJ is just going to jack up shots then I agree with you Fish. This team will destroy him and most likely will. If he is put on the floor to cut to the basket get out on the break. Create movement on offense then he will thrive but jacking up shots I don't like it. The agenda is not put on him to do much other things like bring up the ball to solidify his handle. Create his own shot with dribble penetration. Work on defense these are the thing that should be put on THJ's shoulders. It will make him an all around player.

Agreed with the system....THJ would flourish in an open court, fast paced system. Knicks are either last or near the bottom in fastbreak points and we usually play halfcourt one-on-one basketball which does not play to his skill set. Best way to utilize THJ in the half court would be to run him off screens for open looks. It would be even better if we had a Point Guard who could penetrate draw defenders and kick it out to THJ for open looks. Also, someone needs to tel THJ that every jumper doesn't have to be a 3. He has the ability to knock down the 15-17 footer as well.
