Today, Isola has an article about the Knicks.

Here are the final 2 paragraphs.

"There will be trades, promises of big-name players the following summer and probably a big fat contract extension for Anthony as well.
But the Knicks will never change. Dolan will never change. The people around him will never change and thus the culture will never, ever change. And one more thing that will stay the same: the Knicks will continue to be a laughingstock."

At times, all of us have said that until Dolan goes, this team is not going anywhere. The Yankees got lucky and The Boss was suspended for 2 years. In that period, they hired Gene Michael and reformed the team. Donnie Walsh was brought in and things started to change but, "Little Jimmy", was not getting the credit, so he canned Walsh and now the team is back to being a perennial loser, just like its owner.

I cant argue with anything he said. Hell the jets and mets will probably win another championship before the Knicks do. Instead of doing a true rebuild and make smarter acquisitions the Knicks led by Dolan will continue to do what he has done since 2000 and continue to lose

That's right. So in essence all the banter we do here, is just noise. It will accomplish nothing. Dolan is in charge and he could care less about us.

The only way to fight him, is to STOP. STOP it all. STOP watching, stop going, stop buying and perhaps most importantly, stop talking about the team. When the team is off the radar, then and only then will something change.

I know what to do, it's just hard to do.

I consider myself a loyal fan so I will watch painfully BUT I wont go to game slike I have been.

This is the best part of the article IMO:

Dolan? He only does arranged Q&A’s and is mostly interested in the basics: favorite color, ice cream and Eagles songs. The best part about Dolan agreeing to an interview last November was that he was convinced that this was the Knicks’ year. And since the renovation, excuse me, transformation of MSG was complete, he wanted to gloat. Dolan was intent on making sure he was out in front when it came to taking credit.

But when it all falls apart, the boss runs and hides. It’s the worst kind of leadership. Pass the buck. It’s an MSG tradition.

well one thing I will say about the yankees... True they were able to build that dynasty core when George was banned from baseball, but George did know the sport and he won two rings as the owner before this last run.. and he did so by getting Reggie to NY... so he was not some complete incompetent owner like dolan.

Yeah, but as long as ESPN is accurate when we suck, that's key. Hey, Bonn, why don't you pull up the threads that show the "Boston wins the whole division" prediction from two years ago...

Actually, Dolan will continue to win. He has enough bank to over pay so-called NBA stars to play for the knicks, which will fill the seats and sell championship dream(s). I'm just waiting for the highly respected fans (Spike Lee, Walt Frazier, 90's Knicks, etc...) to step up and sway Dolan into a winning direction. All we need is to bring back some of those 70's / 90's old school players or managers to change the culture from out scoring the opponent to stopping the opponent. Having too many offensive players, brings more inconsistency and less wins. Adding more defensive players (aka K.Mart) will make us more relavent. It's not rocket science. We took the offensive route and it didn't work...(, Amari, Melo, JR. Then tried to balance it with defense, and the result was 54 wins. The only problem is that was a one and done year, since most of our defensive / high IQ players were 38 and up. We have the right formula to win. It takes somebody to step up with high basketball IQ that Dolan can trust.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Dolan's trust bank includes basketball people like IT, Steve Mills, etc. So much for that theory.

We built on defense in the '90's and couldn't get past MJ or Hakeem. It's a different game of starphucquing now. GM collusion, player collusion and nobody wants to play with Jimmy, and he don't GAF.

We desperately need some quality leadership and D in the backcourt. At least someone who won't be counted on to blow up, eff up or break down every 5 games.

You're right, old, broken down front court D specialists, and actually old, broken down anything isn't sustainable. Last year we got the last of the tungsten out of Rasheed, KrazyEyes, and JKidd and this year we got worlds less than any portion of that from MWP and KMart.

I thought Bargs would have been a great reclamation project. So much for that.

Not sure what parts we add or can add to this core of Melo, THJr, JTyler (backup PF), Prigs (backup PG). Pretty thin pickings.

What do we, or can we replace Tyson with? I really don't want to revisit the era of 6'9" starting centers...

Over the calf socks would look good right about now.

jrodmc - the moment Carmelo walks, Andrea Bargnani becomes our leading man. It is not his skill set as much as his demeanor that causes the disconnect. A poor mans Darko Milicic, with a blank stare attitude.

Without draft picks, the Knicks are relegated to castaways and rejects. Trash. Tyreke Evans? C'mon Son! There is little to be found in recycling plastic bottles and crushed aluminum cans, while everyone else is shopping on Fifth Avenue.

Import the Summer League roster and call it a day.

Thanks to the AnswerMan for making things worse than they already are.

Really? Woody doghouse conversations grew so old so fast.

I'd rather have Chris McNealy at this point.

Yanks aren't handcuffed by a salary cap either....They can spend to fix their problems....Knicks cannot....

The Answer Man was campaigning for Tim Hardaway Jr but got stuck in traffic.

How is 37 wins accurate? We have 21 and show no signs of winning again anytime soon.

Actually that was the Schoene projection, ESPN was even more off-base judging by how many nationally televised games they gave us this year. Every ESPN prime time matchup has to be a major slap in the face to the ESPN dummies that bought the 54-win hype.

the team imploded, something that the prediction model did not take into account.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
