OK. This is my take (again) on how I would fix the current predicament my favorite team is experiencing.

1. Trade KT, Deke and Othella to Dallas for Antoine Walker and a 2nd rounder (51st pick). Trade ID number 1593446
Dallas needs to get rid of Walker and would definitely want to pick up KT and some affordable contracts. I know that Toine shoots way too many 3s, but with Starbury penetrating and kicking out to Toine for open 3s, we could be deadly. If it doesn't work out, he has a huge expiring contract. No harm. No foul. I really think the Mavs would do this, they need some grunts and KT fits the bill. For the 2d rd pick select Romain Sato. Here are his strengths accroding to NBADraft.net "Freakish athleticism. Combines broad shoulders and amazing strength with jaw dropping leaping ability. Has a great 3 point stroke."

2. Split the MLE to sign both Chris Andersen and Rodney White. This gives us quality depth at the forwards and SG spot.

3. Trade Nazr Mohammed to Utah for one of their 1st round picks (16th overall) and select Tiago Splitter. He is a scorer and long. 7' tall and 236 lbs. Give him time and he could be our C/PF of the future.

4. Trade Sweetney, FWIll and Shandon Anderson to Portland for Theo Ratliff and 1 of their 1st Rd picks (23rd overall). We get our center and a late 1st rounder(I know, late 1st rounders amount to almost nothing most of the times). BUT! We get rid of Shandon! High price to pay but it is a premium I am willing to take. Then select a backup center (David Harrison, Robert Swift, Rafael Araujo).

5. For our own 2nd rd pick (45th overall) I will select Blake Stepp. He is a tall (6'4") PG from PointGuard U (Gonzaga)

NYK Lineup
C - Theo Ratliff, Harrison/Swift/Araujo,Cezary Trybanski
PF - Antoine Walker, Tiago Splitter, Chris Andersen
SF - Tim Thomas, Rodney White
SG - Houston, Penny, Romain Sato
PG - Starbury, Blake Stepp, Moochie Norris

This would be a very athletic group. Aside for H2O and Penny, we would outrun most teams in the league. Then, after next year we have TT and Penny with HUGE expiring contracts. We can reload again! The year after that it's H2O and Moochie!

um....no.

Have you seen Toine lately? Fast, he ain't. I think trading for Toine would be a disaster. Kenyon abused him both last year and the year before, imagine how ugly that would get later? No way. They need a YOUNG power forward. And don't be so quick to give up on Nazr.

Toine has an expiring contract and the man can shoot. Starbury needs a shooter that will bail him out when he tries to penetrate and the whole team collapses on him. He is not fast, yes, that's why you get players like Chris Andersen, Rodney White and the like.

I never liked Nazr Mohammed. The man does not play D. He is not a complimentary player to Starbury. He clogs up the middle on offense and negates Stephon's strength.

what we need is young centre so we can move nazr back to pf where he belongs.

Starbury needs a shooter that will bail him out when he tries to penetrate and the whole team collapses on him.

um..........allan houston??????????

i agree we should trade f.will. i love the guy but he will never get any time behind starbury. all w eneed for a backup pg is a guy who wont turn the ball over for 5 - 10 minutes per game.

Allan definitely fits that bill, but we need more than 1 shooter in the team. Who was hitting outside shots when Allan was out?
