So, what do we have on our hands right now:
Shump not happy with SF & playing minutes
Beno not happy with critics
Stat not happy with minutes
Tyson not happy with switching d
Melo not happy with team

All in all i am happy that nothing changed at the dead line, one big happy Knicks family!

PS
Bold prediction on my behalf, Knicks will stay pat next season, including coach!

He's not a 3. Never has been. He was a PG/SG in college. More Woody mismanagement. Now he's got no PG skills at all from my view, but there is a logjam at the two, which is exasperated by our need to play two PGs because we dont have one good enough to run an offense that has like 3 plays in it.

You are absolutely correct. That's why he should be traded so the kid can figure it out elsewhere.

I wish they would start Smith at this point. Smith is a better passer and ball handler than any point guard we have smh. Felton and Smith together with prigs off the bench until we can get my lord and savior Bobby Brown in here.

Shump's not a 3, but he's not a 1, 2, 4, or 5 either

Nobody is coming in here from Europe or the D league or the late 2nd round to QB an NBA franchise. Its just not a realistic notion. Has it ever happened? Calderon? Rubio was a top pick. Im honestly trying to figure it out... Tony Parker I guess

in Woody and MDA's system the 2 and 3 are interchangeable. They are basically the same thing. I think shumps problem is more of the spread offense. We have no curls, dives or cuts. So a player like shump who is not much of a shooter has to stay out behind the 3 point line. I personally love spread offense. You just need to have more movement. You can get away without the movement if you have a PG that drives to the hoop and kicks out. This makes the defense scramble, thus giving people the opportunity to take advantage of a late rotation or mistake. This is why the one time a month Felton gets to the hoop at will we look awesome. This is the reason why when Lin was our PG we looked awesome. It is ingrained in Lins mind to take the ball to the hoop at will. He was the perfect PG for us.

Edit: I forgot to add that Woody has grown in his usage of Tim. Tim is the only player that they use off ball movement to get him shots. If he can just do this with every player then we will be much better.

there was a time when Amare was still healthy that I pictured a team with MDA's offense, a frontcourt of Amare/Melo/Tyson and our backcourt of the future was Lin and Shump.

When you surround a PG who can get into the paint with shooters and frontcourt guys who can finish you have a wining mix. We have Felton and Prigs. All east west.. your right, that once every four games when Felton remembers he was once young and fast we look great.

A good start for shump would be to lift on off days and work on shooting before game days.

for all we know he might already do this. i think a better start for him would be to stop arguing with coaches/refs and not getting injured so much.

I agree about the arguing with the coaches but there was an article on Shump talking about how he lifts before games. It was around the time that he was throwing up frequent air balls.

he needs to care more about winning then whining.

oh, and even a broke down MWP would be a more productive player with Shump's minutes.

Meh

When I played baseball I would often lift heavily before I played to help relax myself. Different sport but you need to be smooth. More effort doesnt help you hit jumpers. Good mechanics do.. If Shump was out of gas I would say different story.

The article came out when he was throwing up a lot of air balls. He didn't have range on his shot at the time.

yea but everyone is different.. I mean he's in shape and he's got energy in games. His problem is staying healthy and between the ears. I dont see his issue being due to fatigue. Just my thought... I suspect whatever routine Shump has has been working for him since college etc

damaged goods - both physically and mentally.

he needs to go to another team if he wants to salvage a career. he has no place here. too much of a circus. next up - hardaway jr.

Jr and for some reason Felton so like almost every wing player but Shump has plays for them to run of screens. I find it interesting.

When I think about that I put that on the coaches and trainers. Unless he does it away from the facilities(doubtful) the coaches would have to have given him the okay and if they didn't letting it to continue to happen is even worse.

Resistance bands would be better if he just has to workout.
