We need to take this in another direction

you have to fully assess the situation.

the knicks have melo and nothing else. for all intent and purpose, there are probably at least 50 players out there like shump. hardaway junior is tbd. the team is capped out for 2 more years (if they just sit idle - and in this market, after 2010, that's almost impossible). they don't have draft picks. and they don't have a forward thinking smart front office.

if you are a quality coach, why step into this situation? almost guaranteed to end your career.

avery johnson + pj are the only ones on your list that may be interested b/c they are not that good (which is why they can't get another job). the other guys you mentioned can get another gig, just choose not to right now.
