![]() Andre Miller is pretty old, so the asking price shouldn't be too high for him. The market value for disgruntled vets is pretty nonexistent, which is why most end up getting bought out instead of traded for value. In spite of all that, Miller's still better than any PG we've got so we need to make a trade for him because if he's bought out, he'll go to a contender. I propose this....
With Tony Parker injured so frequently, I think the Spurs would have serious interest in Pablo Prigioni who could help fill the void with Patty Mills until the postseason. I also hear that Prigioni is good friends with Ginobli so clearly that could help things along. The Spurs have also had their issues with big man depth, so I think Kenyon Martin and his rim protecting capabilities would be welcomed additions. Denver gets Beno , who isn't much, but could provide a few minutes of play for them until they find a longer termed solution. They are a fast-paced team, which I think suits Beno's style of play more. The same can be said for Matt Bonner who is an excellent 3 point shooter and floor spacer, who can temporarily fill the big man spot left behind by JaVale McGee. That's more than anyone should expect to get from a 38 year old PG. Golden States does the deal because they could use Metta's toughness and grit. I could also see Mark Jackson overrating him because of the Queens, NY connection. In any case, Marshon Brooks is expendable and the Warriors might need a 3/4 if they actually end up moving Harrison Barnes. Beyond acquiring Andre Miller, I really like the deal because it clears up the glut on the roster and opens up 2 roster spots. We could use these vacancy's to audition young CBA talent that might be worthwild moving forward. Also, Toure Murry gets more of an opportunity to play, which is always a plus and with Brooks on the team, it gives us that much more leeway to move JR Smith and Iman Shumpert. |
