Not sure I agree that's the way to go. I would at least try to get draft picks for him. He did say he thinks NYK is the favorite to sign him - but I bet that's at $30 million which will kill us.

Exactly plus melo is going into his 30's and will decline sooner or later because he has a alot of mileage on him. but liek you said dolan will probably offer him 6 years 35 million per year

When your starting pg and best player are MENTALLY WEAK down the stretch at home, you are in trouble.

If he takes that kind of money from NY it tells me he is ok losing just to get a pay day.

He is entitled to the money but Lebron AND Wade took less to win. If Melo is unhappy with the way the team is constructed then he should learn about the cap and sacrifice lining his pockets to get a legit sidekick.

It won't happen though. He is either walking or staying with a max deal.

He should have been fired after the Indiana series and at the latest in December of 2013 when it was clear he can't coach this team.
