Sorry but amare is off his restrictions, doc took him off of that weeks ago. Woody has got to stop putting Tyson on a pedestal, yes we pay him 14 mil, yes he's the most overrated center who makes that kind of money. Is he a good player? Yea .Tyson can still rebound, get the occasional dunk off a pick and roll, his blocking and protection of the paint are way down . He can be a step slow on defense now a days,he also looks like he gives up on plays . Good leader ? Good question. Is he a champion, yes he is and so is Beno Udrih . Also start looking at the big picture Tyson's on the wrong side of thirty,he's not gonna get better and he's not bringing you to the promises land . Again he's making 14 mil a year averaging 8&8...

Now let me get to Tyler he's twenty two a top recruit coming out of high school he was so good he got a offer to play in Israel at age 16. It didn't work out over there, but it was never because of his skill, It was more about his motivation and attitude . If he went to duke he would have had time to be a kid and mature into adulthood, he also would have been a lottery pick last year if he went 4 years at duke,or unc, cuse, ohio state... Or any of the other schools that recruited him. So he ended up taking the alternate route, that still doesn't diminish that fact the kids got game. We know how long it takes big men to develop. Now let me tell you about his game, Tyler can score from anywhere on the floor inside the three point line, he can post you up and hit fadeaway jumpers all day long. Or he can beat you with his footwork facing or with his back to the basket. He has a unreal vertical and can give you highlight dunks. He consistently crashes the boards . Relentless under the basket . He can also block shots very well with that 7'5 wingspan. So ask yourself this if Tyler was to take Tyson's minutes , would he average more then 8 points and 8rebounds a game like Tyson dose. The answer is absolutely Tyler would at least double that in point total per game and he can bound so I'll give Tyler a double double at 14 and 10 with a block or two a game. Tyler's time is now cause it's not getting any better with Tyson.

He really ought to start getting more minutes- plain and simple.

He's like having a free first round draft pick.

What happened to the last one we had? I forgot his name.

He's the kid that entered the draft and went back to school his senior year (?) because he didn't get picked...

Tyler is earning his stripes.

Its called progress and it comes incrementally.

Dude is making good. Thats not reason to give him the keys.

can anyone lay out what his value is?

I mean its not like his decline is any big secret, and we all know in the mecca that young guys given starters minutes does not often translate to simply extropolating his production.

In the mecca we know that "energy players" play shorter minutes because they can't go full out for long durations. They are prone to injury and careers have been ruined. A player has grow into those kind of minutes and his back and legs have to strengthen.

In smaller markets not all the fans know this.

So its cool to trade tyson but what are we looking to get in return? We rebuilding? Take on a worse contract? We keeping Melo?

no one is saying to give him the keys - but why do other organizations give their young players more time/responsibility than we do?

It was one thing when our vets were healthy and we were a 54 win team.

That is not the case this year.

He could definitely benefit from more minutes, especially considering Tyson looks like he's trying to expedite Woody's firing.

I mean everyone sees the BS he's pulling, right? Why can't Woodson?

Yea Tyson and Amare will miss time. It's a blessing if we actually make the playoffs. Whoever is coach will be forced to play Tyler. Then maybe I can actually get excited about a meaningless playoff run

This. Also, the kid needs to learn the league. He'd foul out every game if we gave him starters minutes. He averages 5.5 fouls per 36 minutes now and he still makes bonehead plays. Don't get me wrong. I've had some issues with Woody's coaching this season, but I think he's doing a decent job handling Tyler.

Yeah I actually thought he was just sucking but during the OKC game yesterday it looked like he was dogging it.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

No need to compare them. You can have 3 PF/Cs each get 32 mpg. In this case, you probably don't want any of them getting more than 28 mpg, which leaves 12 mpg for Melo at PF and 25 at SF. Thankfully garbs bargs is out of the picture.

Tyler, of course, but what's the matter, as soon as K mart will be back from his injury, there will be no Tyler, like Copeland, Woody doesn't like them young, just ask Shump, i mean, the rock...
