Dear MR DOlan and MSG STAFF:

With our draft picks along our team could have been

PG 2009 NBA draft
========================
Jrue Holiday in Jordan Hill's draft which Blake Griffen was the 1st overall pick and Harden was 3rd overall b4 Thabeet at 2nd (in a rich PG draft with Lawson, Teague, Darren Collison) and Fields was selected right b4 Lance Stepehnson

2010 draft
====================
G/F Paul George *our draft pick from Marbury that they selected Gordon Haywawrd(Cole Aldrich was the next picked after him, sometimes it doesnt work)

2007 NBA draft
=====================
SF Wilson Chandler, GREG ODON was the #1 overall, with Durant as 2nd, Marc Gasol at 48, Sessions at 56

2006 NBA draft
=====================

PF/C Aldridge, AB was the #1st pick and Lamarcus Aldridge (one of our picks for Curry) was the 2nd pick that was traded down to Portland for Tyrus Thomas, 20 Balkman, 21 Rajon Rondo

2007 NBA draft
===================
C Noah

Gallo where Roy Hibbert was available at 17 in a RICH C draft ( right b4 Gallo was Kevin Love, Westbrook, Beasley, Rose, and after Gallo at 9 was Speights, 10 was Lopez, Hibbert, McGee were picked way after, Hickson, Ryan Anderson, Ibaka, Battum, Daandre Jordan, Asik, and PATRICK EWING JR was selected b4 Dragic)

2005 NBA draft
=================

1 Andrew Bogutx
2 Marvin Williams
3 Deron Williams
4 Chris Paul
5 Raymond Felton

6 Martell Webster
7 Charlie Villanueva
8 Channing Frye
9 Ike Diogu
10 Andrew Bynum*

We selected Frye at 9, David Lee at 30, Nate Robinson at 21, 36 Ersan İlyasova, 40 Monta Ellis, 45 Louis Williams, 49 Andray Blatche, 56 Amir Johnson, 57 Marcin Gortat

In short, because we chose to mortgage our future for a *proven star* declining star, we gave up many players, not even including the Mcdyess for Camby and Nene or STAT deal

WITH OUR OWN draft picks ALONE, in theory, our lineup could have been surrounded with ALL STAR caliber talents even without Lebron, Durant, CP3, Duncan, D12, etc, and sometimes you just need to tank once WHICH WE NEVER DID despite always having losing seasons fighting for the 9th/10th spot for no reason that effected our draft picks
We could have flipped assets for other assets and other positions, usually C's and PG's are the 2 hardest and most important positions to develop, but in the end, the entire MAKEUP of a team is much more important than BIG NAMES or even ALL STARs like Lebron

Jrue Holiday
Paul George
Wilson Chandler
LaMarcus Aldridge
Noah

in 2007 draft
Gallo should have been traded down to Hibbert and another player like Battum, Ibaka, Dragic, or Asik

in 2005 draft
Frye should not have been drafted before Bynum, which many here posted including BRIGGS, Nate Robinson should have been drafted over Monta Ellis or/and Ersan Ilyasova (was going to take time to come over)

Renaldo Balkman should have been drafted over Rhondo
Monta Ellis/Ilyasova
Lance Stephenson
Battum
David Lee
Hibbert

Look at these 10 players alone, with just draft picks that were either owned by NYK's, traded prior for an aging big name player, players that could have realistically acquired, this is literally TEAM USA talent level, and has the combination of OFFENSE, DEFENSE, and REBOUNDING to go with GREAT SHOOTERS, 1v1 and TEAM defenders, athleticism, length, speed/penetration, and just amazing talent

Sure their payroll might have 100m but you could always trade down for talent for cap relief in trade exemptions, assets, and draft picks

Now if you combine drafting smartly with signing and/or trading for talents and signing players that hold greater value than their development, you can assemble a team that FITS together cohesively, but it must be in a RIGHT TIME since, contracts/talents must be rewarded at one time or another

A reason why I want a WHOLE NEW HEAD COACH, with assistant coaches that values player development, and a competent GM that assembles a team together based on FIT and a coaches philosophy and system

More importantly, playing in NYC, in MSG has advertisement/endorsements benefits, in addition to a owner that is willing to overpay to keep talent
Unfortunately, he doesn't allow and trust his GM's overriding them, instead of letting them do their job
Now if Dolan used his networks/connections, business deals/opportunities, and promotions to entice his players with incentives to stay lower contracts while making it up in other areas like MSG network with "NEW BEGGINING'S show for some may be enough" and promotions/advertisements/branding for others, and business/opportunities for others during/after their careers
Like how Billionare Mark Cuban, value's his team, winning, patience, and developing relationships with his players, making it a better working environment than NYK already brings
It isn't always the contract in the NBA that can attract players to come to NYK, we need to establish a better relationship, business opportunities on the court, off the court, after they retire, and players like David Robinson, Wilt Chamberlain, Hakeem/ Yao, Pat Riley *with incentives with money, business, and power* that has the respect in the league

That is why I want Dolan to understand this, for he does have passion for the game, he just needs to be able to trust the right talents, and pay to keep them, allowing them to do their job, while his job is to make it more profitable and attractive for both management, current players, coaches, scouts, assistant coaches, ALL STAFF, and retired players to represent the brand "New York Knicks" to grow even bigger, on an international level,

Think about it Dolan, all the money that you already spent on buying picks, overpaying for talent, taxes, and all the money and fans you generate by WINNING and being a WINNING FRANCHISE, it takes patience. The entire league, owners, GM's, even players, agents, etc, use us, making us overpay for talent for value and $$$

So, target Poppavich and his staff, with a salary and promise that he will have full control, with Buford. While Poppavich will be the future president of operations like Pat Riley became for The Heat, with some shares to invest in MSG, while some they must invest in and some will be part of their retirement and based on winning games, playoffs, and rings IT is a WIN WIN SITUATION. The media is already on us 24/7, more than any team in the entire league, because we are in NYC, now we have a competitor in BKLYN that has the ability to take part of Dolan's entire enterprise that is the most valued NBA team despite not winning in 50 years and not being contenders since Sprewell/Ewing was here

So Dolan, it is up to you, how you want to run your team, if you want to make it more profitable, if you want to attract more talent on ALL STARS, players, coaches, management, if you want to continue to let the league bully YOU and your franchise by making you overpay for talent time after time, by allowing your Billionare Russion Competitor take a piece of your pie that your family has built, it is time for change, and it starts with you

Surround yourself with talents, staff, and representations that command respect from players in the league, treat ALL your staff as you would want to be treated, and let those go
who have abused your power to make a buck out of you.
You can no longer overpay for talents, set a price, you can no longer pay for a team and taxes that plays 3 quarters, when you are paying them 2 Dollars with taxes

Playing in NYK is a honor, at the Mecca of basketball, at the city that never sleeps, recruit staff that genuinely care for your franchise and has shown nothing but success that you can trust, STAY AWAY from ISIAH THOMAS! Yes, HIRE ME and give me the opportunity and groom me to be an advisor, I eat, sleep, bleed Knicks, Hire Briggs as a recruiter adviser
I am pleading you, with 2015 so close, it isn't worth it to overpay for talent now, look at all the players that you should have been competing many TITLES with just draft selections alone. You are making your competitors stronger by overpaying for talent, you are opening a path for the generations to root for BKLYN

BUT

You can change all of this, you have hired a consultant firm in McKinsey for a reason
You have the greatest most passionate fans in the entire world despite not even contending
Now I can't guarantee you I won't make mistakes but I have a vision on how you can be a contending team and become even more profitable
I can guarantee you that you will get those rings that you have tried your best to buy, but the CBA has changed, you must change with it, this generation is still yours, a couple generations later, things may change greatly with BKLYN around the corner
Some things you can buy with money but NOT everything is for sale

Surround yourself with talent on all levels, with constant improvement, and efficiency. LEARN FROM YOUR PAST MISTAKES and MOVE ON
You are the SHARK, don't allow the league, other teams, players, agencies etc, ruin what your FAMILY BUILT
TREAT all of your staff with respect, and they will work harder for you, provide them with possible endless opportunities to show their value to you
Even your ex staff, you never know when they can return a favor for you, unless they screwed you purposely, but sometimes it isn't worth your time with your "integrity"
You want players, ex players, management, and ALL STAFF to want to work for you, it is their honor, and NOT motivated by only money either, some need incentives
While some have failed your business for many years, LOOK AT THE TEAM THAT YOUR DRAFT PICKS SHOULD HAVE BEEN

I will quit my JOB to work for you and work my way up, on the minimum till you feel I am showing you RESULTS
There are some knowledgeable posters here on UltimateKNICKS.com share with much passion, for the urge to turn things around and win
Thank Andrew and Martin as the mods who put the time and resources to allow this great site to run, many here including me, have been posters here on this forum before or last Finals Appearance and have been fans dating back to Bernard King and Clyde Drexler Rings
It is allowed me to vent and learn the structure of the contracts, players, establish value for a player, system/coach/team, and when to use the eye over stats, vice versa.

You just spent a Billion on renovation of the Garden, well you deserve a team that wants to come NYK to play for you
You have to be able to identify talent, recognizing the and risk/rewards, for better of your Corporation
Make Lebron, the next All STAR, whether Melo, Lin, or whoever, regret not playing for you
But hey, if you can sign Lebron *he has a player option for this summer and next year where there are more FA to team up with*, especially in 2015, you have to offer him an attractive place to WANT TO BE HERE
The past 4 years have a disappointment, when it matters most, in the play offs, totally NOT ACCEPTABLE
IN 2015, you have the ability to form a core of talent to build of off, that will KNOCK your competitor BKLYN NET's out, if you can establish your core
It is just around the corner and you need a plan, starting now

New York Knickbockers is the richest NBA team but it can be more profitable and efficient
I am honest and straight forward, telling you as I see it
And I have visions on how you can build a winning franchise within the next 5 years
With the lack of picks and moves we previously made, each move is essential it a force to compete with The Pacers with
They have youth, talent, and they will be only be getting better in these next couple of years, yet their players make less than you
They spend much less on players, management, and it is about efficiency and getting VALUE

I am asking for a chance to show your the expectations that I know you can accomplish for your franchise, getting greater value for the money you already are willing to spend
You can crush me in second with your power if I fool you in way and I have NO INTENTIONS and I must have passion to stay as a loyal Knick fan since mid 80s, especially through Isiah's years

Let me fulfill my dream, with the other billion Knick fans, and your families by winning multiple rings in the next decade

In the trade for Carmelo Anthony, you have done everything in your power to help him and his CAA clients to profit out of you without delivering any results but wanting a max extension
You saved Denver over 50m in tax/salaries, while trading for one player that wants to grab you by your balls for a max extension, which is half of your salary cap to build a team of 12 players. These CAA guys have done NOTHING but ripped you apart, putting their clients first, and causing distractions to your franchise while the players should be on a mission fueled by last years hunger and performance.

Yet you didn't get compensated for the money you saved them and you paid half of your roster, a possible top 5 pick 1st rounder, a possible top 5 switch 1st rounder, with 2 GS 2nd round picks and players that you gave up were all sold at their lowest value while they were playing their best year, finally coming together
They could have achieved the same thing or better without the trades and you would have had at least CP3, D12, Harde, or/and Rudy Gay, at least 2 of these players had you waited
2015 is near but you must make it attractable, profitable, and efficient for to build a contending team, at least going to the ECF in a RIVAL MATCH like we had with LJ, Ewing, Houston, vs Reggie Miller, expect nothing less

Basketball is team sport, they need structure, with good coaching, that knows how to get the most out of his players, know how to push their buttons, get his players to respond, more importantly understand how to develop habits for his players, rewarding them when deserved and vice versa
He is the leader and honestly, Woodson deserves the can, his philosophy is flawed and he loss the respect/voice in the locker room already
Someone needs the blame, Dantoni took it, and it created a spark, if you want to chase this season, you need a spark
However, you must decide what is more important, 2015 and the future, or allowing Melo to possibly walk for no compensation when you traded half a team for him.

You are willing to spend and pay top money but some player people don't deserve it without the results
DO not let Melo play these games with you, set a statement, he is playing you right now with his CAA agents, making another bidding war for his services
I have a plan on how you can win with and without Melo but he isn't good enough to be the only player, making nearly 27-30m per year, making it impossible to build a contender around him. He is only looking out for himself while you have dedicated your all to him, if he wants to win, make that a priority, but you cannot pay him till after 2016

You can do better Dolan, don't let these CAA minions profit and make a fool out of you with the rest of the league
Not many people get do so something they have genuine interest and knowledge in, I know I can do a much better job advising with you, and creating plans to execute Championship Teams
I have watched the Knick's and they have won me with Derek Harper, Starks, Mason, Oakley, Ewing to the 99 Knicks, and the horror of Isiah years....
But it can get worse, the CBA has changed the rules and strategies in building a team, you cannot throw all 30m on one player and expect players to produce at a high level making close to the vet min, not when his name isn't Jordan/Lebron, and even they couldn't do it without talent that you would not be able to add since you don't have the bird rights of enough talents needed

But it can be fixed, 2015 is your year, where Knick fans will rise over BKLYN and win the next generation of fans
I can lay out your options, you decide what your best interest may be, but regardless, I have plans that I eat, sleep, think, Orange/Blue

I don't blame Melo or one person, but I want to be part of the solution

Sincerely,
A deeply concerned Knick's fan

Stephenson(Brooklyn) and Bynum (Jersey) would have imploded off the court playing pro ball in NYC as rookies. Even Ron Artest mentioned he wouldn't have done well playing in NYC as a rookie.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Way too long to follow. Why are some of the draft years out of sequence?
