The Cleveland Cavaliers were hoping to be a playoff contender this season around Kyrie Irving, but have been terribly disappointing. The Cavaliers have missed on several draft picks and Chris Grant's job as general manager is in danger.

"Kyrie Irving has been telling people privately he wants out," wrote Chad Ford.

Irving becomes eligible for a contract extension this offseason and will presumably receive a max offer from the Cavaliers. Irving could become a restricted free agent in the 2015 offseason meaning he could not leave outright until 2016.

"The Cavs are working to try to create a winning situation and culture to make him happy," wrote Ford. "Didn't report it to say he's gone. Just trying to show why the Cavs are trying hard to right the ship right now."

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Here we go again, lol. Isn't he from North Jersey, too?

So you guys think they'll take Felton/Shump/JR (+Chris) and a 2nd rounder for Kyrie?!?!?

Nobody wants to ball for the CAVS,when the owner treated Lebron like he was one of his cattle Hebrew slaves.

I don't know what Bynum's deal is though.

Kyrie can force the Cavs to trade him saying he's going to walk if they don't. Cleveland can't afford to get screwed over twice without getting anything in return. Their fans would go nuts on them if it happened again.

Kyrie should take out a full page ad why he wants to leave Cleveland and come to NY.

Melo start recruiting tonight.

It he came to the Knicks it would be a dream come true, huge fan of his. Can't say his injury history isn't troublesome, but he's very entertaining.

Too bad Shump is hurt tonight, Clyde can relate when the Knicks traded him to Cleveland. LOL

If we ask nicely, I see no reason why not.

kyrie is there biggest problem, scoring pg's hardly make players better, and kyrie puts up too many shots to be a championship pg..

When did Dolan want a Championship pg, he only wanted somebody to run a Broadway show.

Chad Ford says: Yeah, I see Twitter is blowing up about what I wrote about Kyrie. Thought that was fairly common knowledge that he's been unhappy there. Maybe not ... Don't overreact. Much, much harder for players in their rookie contracts to leave. They have to take a much riskier path and essential sign a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent. Very few do it. And the Cavs are working to try to create a winning situation and culture to make him happy. Didn't report it to say he's gone. Just trying to show why the Cavs are trying hard to right the ship right now.

Knicks need to get Waiters and help the CAvs create a 'winning situation' for Kyrie.

Crushalot, do you think Waiters and Melo would get along?

I know they both starred at Da Cuse, but both are use to having the green light offensively.

I remember Waiters telling the league, he's coming up, and gonna be the best shooting guard in the association one day.

I think they would but I also think if you get Waiters you move him or hardaway jr in a deal for a point guard. Waiters is really good. He also is supremely confident. If you can get a talent like Waiters at a discount I think you have to try.

Yes he was the # 4 pick overall, he has firepower and just have to adapt to the NBA game knowing what he can do at the NBA level.
