Don't see it- after his experience of playing with a broken down Amar'e, doubt he wants to repeat it with a broken down Rose. Plus him and Rose wouldn't really work well together.

And his options are pretty limited if you look at teams with cap space AND championship potential. Maybe the suns.

Get the feeling that Melo would only go to LA with a new coach in place. Might be a condition of his going there. Bulls would be a nice fit for Melo.

Having a scorer on the team would put less pressure on Rose to carry the offense at times. If Rose learned how to dial it back a little, something he admits he has a hard time doing, it might help prolong his career.

carmelo is frightened of doing hard work on the defensive end. it's unimaginable that he will not balk having to work under thibs.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

We will give Melo a max contract and he will stay. That is what will happen. We won't let him go to another team and he won't leave 30 million on the table.

or he will sabotage the team, thibs will leave... he and rose will be at odds.. I can see it now... but honestly I could care less. as long as he is gone and the knicks are on the path of building a team we can be proud of, that is all I care about..

Maybe by "winning a chip is my ONLY focus at this stage" he was alluding to taking less to play at The Garden WITH some high-priced helper(s).

Whether Melo stays or goes we all have some serious roster flaws.

We need a point guard and our center is over paid and over rated. We need a backup small fwd. We need to play tyler, Murry and thjr way more.

none of this is changing so we will be horrible regardless of what melo decides to do.

Totally agree with you. Gotta fix the 5, and gotta play the yoots to develop them post-haste! Also agree that Dolan will phck it all up as he always does.

Melo for Boozer/Taj/Snell/rights to Mitoric & 2014 #1 pick (we use on young PG) or drop Snell and we get a 2nd pick

That gives us 2 legit PFs, 2 legit SFs and a pick ---

Go into next year with base young group of Taj/Mitoric/Snell/THJ/Shump/1st round pick/Tyler ---

Key is finding a young pg prospect and freeing up cash to target a legit young vet PG

If he is taking a pay cut he has a much better chance to win in Chicago and probably even LA than in NY. I can't see him reuniting with D'Antoni. Jim Buss was willing to lose Dwight Howard to try to prove that the D'Antoni hiring was right. Not sure that he gets rid of him to add Melo.

That looks like a really old team at the top. Looks like last years team that blew and minus Dwight Howard so it looks worse!!
