NY POST :Jason Kidd might be a rookie coach, but he has employed a familiar formula to get his Nets back on track after their disastrous start to the season.

In fact, if you take a closer look at what the Nets are doing throughout their recent hot streak — which stretched to eight wins in nine games to open 2014 with their victories over the Knicks and Magic this week — what the Nets have been doing looks reminiscent of what helped propel the Knicks to their 54-win season a year ago.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Chicken or the egg???

YOu think then Kidd took this great secret with him?
And why then did their season start off so god awful when knick started 18-6?

While your conspiracy boner leads to thinking in a certain direction, I'd say there as a contribution by Kidd no doubt, but the same could be said about a lot of factors.

You had players on the roster who could impliment the style that suited them either because of desire, health, and presence. By that, team had chemistry, was on board with movement, and the deep roster was suffieicnet to ward off injuries.

Bottom line is Kidd does not have some speacial formula, its just good basketball ball movement and when you have parimeter shooters as do the Nets, you can open things up. Knicks had that more last year. Nets have a PG play from williams and now Livingston who is making good on an opportunity.

Fraud? nope, its marketing and for many of us we are emotionally attached to the team from our youth. We were told by Barkley and Sport Illustrated the team would struggle. If you choose to call it hate then fraud so is your right.

Maybe you should consider that you seem to label yourself a victom to circumstance and not in control of your world. Perhaps your have a bunker to survive when the big one comes to satisfy your need for control. What ever helps you thru the night.

What you have to consider regarding the knicks is not fraud, its simply the fact that most revenue does not come from hardcore fans who visit the UK.

Knicks have a plan. Its not for them to share with us. It might not be a good plan, but its within their right to not let us in on it.

To melo or not to melo? That is the question.

Think we should have hired Kidd as head coach? A month ago most would have said "Hell now!"

Winning changes everything.

Shooting 30 3's a game just isn't a great strategy in particular. We're just lucky we had consistently hot shooters last year. Kidd probably helped but he didn't lead the offense to 54 wins with his measley numbers. What was it? 7 points and 3 assists??

Felton was quicker
JR was far more consistent
We had Novak and Copeland shooting threes and spacing the floor instead of Artest and Bargs
More depth

i think kidd was a big part of the hot balls start when he had fresher legs,

jr smith was playing for a contract (called this, look it up) so he was out of his mind,

little things like this, it all worked out somehow, we got hot

take our hot start away and we were basically a 500 team.

But, yea - I think Kidd is one of the biggest differences (that and health) from last year's 54 win team and this pile of poo.

Brooklyn and Kidd are growing on me.

The answer is simple - variance.
Last year team was statistical fluke to upside.
This year team is also statistical fluke to downside.
When you gamble (and this what MSG is doing) with unlimited bankroll you will get this ups and downs.
On average you will stuck in mediocrity
54-28 + 15-27 --> 69-55...
We still have ways to go down to break even.
The issue of this team is not now. Its the future which is bleak at best.

Add in Woodsons first 18-6 season..........

Can't fire him for this mess when he has done a good job previously. Fans love new things! New players, new uni's, new scoreboard and new coach's when things are not going well!

Ultimately it is the coaches job to get the most out of each player and more importantly the ENTIRE team
To come up with a system that works best for the team and making adjustments, which he has all failed in
Defining the role and expectations of each player for the benefit of the team, NOT STARING and getting upset in the sidelines while watching the same players repeat the same crap
NO 1 player is bigger than the game itself, not on this roster especially, The Pacer's understand that and that is part of the reason for their record

The result is not more important than HOW you do it and WHY we are losing, if you repeat the same mistakes again and again
If we don't learn and make adjustments to our mistakes, it defeats the whole purpose of having a Head Coach, it is his responsibility and the team has lost faith in him and it shows

Next up MWP coming in to be our savior after not playing for months at his age is WOodson's plan and predictable at this point
