Read online the thunder are looking for a scorer since they lost kevin martin. Smith could be their scorer off the bench.

Rumored to be giving sefolosha, collison and a pick. or collison, a pick and Lamb.

I like lamb, he's a good prospect

The Thunder are too smart an organization to trade from Smith unless we pay $3 mill, and trade them 2 first rounders, which is too much just to be rid of a headache. All we need to do is Marbury SMith and then cut him in the summer.

I think GS and Okc would be a good place. GS because of Jackson and okc because of it being away from so many distractions.

I can't see how Smith would fit in at GS--they need a backup center and a backup PG--but oddly I could see Smith on the OKC bench.

The New York Knicks are exploring the possibilities of trading veteran shooting guard J.R Smith, and the Oklahoma City Thunder appear a good landing spot for the reigning Sixth Man of the Year....

Thundering Sixth Man

The Oklahoma City Thunder could be an ideal trade destination for Smith, who is a proven scorer when motivated - especially if he's playing for a contender.

Last season, Smith averaged 18.1 points and 5.3 rebounds on his way to a Sixth Man of the Year crown. Coincidentally, the Knicks were also winning a lot of ballgames last year, and the play of Smith undoubtedly helped them achieve supremacy in the Eastern Conference.

Smith could be a valuable scorer off the bench for any contender, and the Thunder, which lost dynamic bench scorers in James Harden and Kevin Martin, could benefit from a potential trade with the Knicks.

"After losing James Harden in 2012 and now Kevin Martin, the Oklahoma City Thunder could use some scoring at shooting guard. While Smith isn't as efficient, the asking price makes it a fair compromise."

"In return, the Knicks could ask for Thabo Sefolosha, Nick Collison and a draft pick, giving them another defensive specialist and an experienced center behind Tyson Chandler while also helping to replenish the stock of picks they've given up over the years," via Bleacher Report.

If the Thunder holds on Sefolosha, they can also have an option of trading away prospect Jeremy Lamb to hammer the deal.

Don't underestimate JR Smith's value. He can turn it on and teams need that energy off the bench. JR is acting like an idiot because he is mad at the Knick's management. Other teams know that he can turn that around and he is worth the gamble. His salary is very reasonable for what he accomplished last year.

LO. The Thunder are not trading sefolosha, collison and a pick for Smith. They MIGHT be interested in traded for him for like a second round pick, but no one is putting their whole season on the line trusting that Smith is going to act right.

I knew it was a mistake when we resigned this guy and was against it. He showed in last year's playoffs that you cannot trust him.

We've already paid for much of his salary - I posted that in the other trade jr thread- so don't discount the value of that to a frugal organization like OKC.

Now- I'm not saying we're getting back talent straight up- but he might have value there for the right price.

Sefolosha is an expiring contract and there is talk that he won't be back next year. So they may want to get something for him now. Also, I think the Knicks would include Aldrich and receive Sefolosha and Collison. That balances out the trade player-wise and I think works salary-wise.

When Jr Smith is committed and rolling he's as talented as anyone playing shooting guard. He is his own worse enemy. He's 28 years old too so it's like when do you stop?

Anyway this trade is fair only if this dude wasn't such a retard. I feel bad for him that he can't get his head straight. He has his parents around him. Chris Smith himself seems like a good kid. I think it's all Jr Smith. He's still stuck at age 14. I feel sorry for him. He'll probably laugh at me cuffs he's rich and I'm taking a **** while I write this. I do feel sorry for him. His talent says he should be one of the best. He is his own worst enemy.

In a serious note, we should all take something from this. We all could do better but we all tend to hold ourselves back one way or another. There's a lesson to pass on here.

I really cant see the Thunder giving up Collison and DEFINITELY not Lamb. Noooo way. Maybe Sefalosha and a 2nd round pick. Maybe. Whoever wrote that article is hitting the crack pipe. Presti is smart and only a moron would give up so much for JR Smith. LOL.

I don't think any team would give up an expiring contract or a 2nd round pick for JR right now. It would have to be a useless player with a worse contract.

Is Thabo really better than Jr? I could see okc doing it for Thabo but Collison and Lamb no way. I would rather have Earl Clark from CLevland.

I think the Knicks have leaked JR trading interest because it's about the only thing they can do to let him know there are consequences to his idiotic actions. No other team wants him and his contract.

The only way we move him is if we take on someone else's mistake -- with both teams hoping the "change in environment" resuscitates guys who aren't getting it done. Even though that almost never works, I'd be happy to do it just to get rid of JR as long as we don't add a longer commitment to an overpaid player.

You may be right about the leak but that can back fire on them because JR is not a professional. He can and has shown that he can give absolutely no effort and will sabotage the coach the team and anyone. I don't trust JR, I'm still wondering how Woody can trust him so much. Woody is stunting Hardaway and Shumps development for JR.
