My thoughts exactly. And beyond the fact that we could theoretically walk away with the pick and Kevin Love by 2015, I think it is clear that Kevin Love needs a dynamic duo to get into the playoffs. Why put all our eggs in his basket, when we would need another guy of his caliber to build a winner?

I'd rather get a pick for Melo in this years draft. Trade Tyson. Let Amare come off the books. Keep our lottery pick next year. Sign love, Aldridge or trade for Kyrie. Maybe another free agent star emerges. Or someone like Harden whose team can't afford to keep him
You can sign multiple guys who are younger instead of paying Melo who will break down shortly after signing for 5 yrs $130mil
