Imagine, you are a Hall of Fame lead guard with two championship rings and a banner in the rafters. Night aft night you are forced to watch guys play uninspired basketball and miss open men. On top of it all, you are obligated to talk about what you see in the most positive terms available, unless you want the source of funding for your elaborate wardrobe, and humble lifestyle, cut off at the source.

You could prabably coach five decent players into performing as one... or even play five good minutes yourself. In garbage time. Hey, nobody beats Father Time. It just sucks to watch the game, that you played with grace and poise, being reduced to empty gestures after a made three point shot.

"Heck, if Jerry Lucas had a three point line his stats would be off the charts."

You are Walt Frazier.

He Said It

During a telecast a few years back, Clyde could not contain himself. After one particularly obvious (at least to him) sequence, he blurted out...

"Pass the ball man!"

Priceless.

I always thought Clyde was less hamstrung in what he said as compared to the other announcers who had to leave. He has never been a homer to my ears.

Clyde is good, he has a ring, I'm frustrated..This is the third time in about what 10/12 years? we have to wait for a guy, who has a stranglehold of the cap, with bad knees, to roll off the books...

Yeah, Clyde is not really biased at all in his analysis in my opinion, besides that he obviously prefers if the Knicks win. With Breen there is a noticeable difference between when he calls Knicks games and when he calls national games. Knicks games he criticizes ref calls and fluffs his criticism of melo. Breen would never in a million years dare say the refs made a bad call when calling a game for ESPN.

"Red always instructed us to hit the open man. That night I was the open man."

Walt Frazier

"New York has been particularly resistant to winning and grinning lately, slopping and dropping to the Thunder.

The team's doldrums look to continue in January, a month that starts off with Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. Oh my. And that's the start.

What happened to the Knicks' dishing and swishing? Their driving and thriving? Their bounding and astounding?!

Truly, this fall from grace is inexplicable and despicable. It has a lot to do with a matador defense, a lack of slicing and dicing and the ghosting of any posting and toasting.

Forget about penetrating and devastating.

All I know is, if the Knicks continue their stumbling and bumbling, doom and gloom definitely loom and they'll be watching the 2014 postseason from the living room." - BR

I wonder what Clyde thinks of this team right now?"

It really ain't that deep..Felton has been hurt all year..He pulled his hammy in preseason..We needed a backup or a starter in the off season who can get in the lane and create open looks on the wings..We saw this last year when Felton was hurt...Prigs position needed to be upgraded..Beno is a head scratcher...Doesn't help that Tyson went down game 4 and Shump is worried about being traded...I think we play better in the second half of the year if guys are healthy..

Agree. I also think that it is apparent now that the Knicks aren't going to have a fire sale with their new gm in place.
