According to a league source, the Rockets had preliminary talks with the Nets last week about Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin. Talks never gained any steam, but the source said the Rockets were doing their due diligence and Williams' name came up. The Nets balked because one of the main reasons Pierce and Garnett agreed to a trade to Brooklyn was to play with Williams, according to the source. Williams, who signed a five-year, $98 million extension in 2012, was playing well upon returning from an ankle injury, and the Nets were looking better. If Asik and Lin ends up in Brooklyn then the NY media and the world is going to get crazy again. Linsanity 2.0. Lin with Bropez and Garnett would be deadly in the PnR. Pierce and Joe Johnson sniping at the 3s would be deadly. Dang. Dolan you ****! Don't let this happen! |

Don't see it happening- Williams health is a big question mark these days with all his ankle issues, then there's the attitude too. Just don't see Morey doing it. |

Lin is a serious DOWNGRADE from D.Williams..This doesn't make the Nets better, IMO. I do wonder how the Somberites feel about this potential starphuck move by the great Morey. |

They have a lot of really good bigs and losing Williams for Lin would be a big downgrade at the point position.CrushAlot wrote:NYKBocker wrote:http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/10176120/brooklyn-nets-pain-losing-brook-lopez-new-york-knicks-gainIt is interesting that they mentioned trading Williams. I can see them upping up the ante and sending Parsons to get this done. Brooklyn can really get stocked up really quick. |

Also, if the Nets got Asik they could look at moving one of their bigs, KG, Blatche, Evans, Plumlee etc. King's last round up.CrushAlot wrote:NYKBocker wrote:http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/10176120/brooklyn-nets-pain-losing-brook-lopez-new-york-knicks-gainIt is interesting that they mentioned trading Williams. But for the record, they are considered contenders now.. deron won't bump them up to #1 Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser...............

Parsons is the glue to that team and did you see his contract? for what he brings to the table he has the best contract in the NBA, by far!! I know you think highly of Parsons, I do too, but to get something you need to give me something. Parsons would be last resort in my opinion. They might offer Greg Smith, Montiejunas and picks before Parsons....but I would not be surprised if Morey offers him. The big question is does DWill still have it. If so then a Big 3 of Dwight, Harden and DWill would be awesome. |
