Murry is the best defensive PG on the squad and is an offensive threat that commands the attention of defences.

“Tour’e is a young talent and he’s probably going to be a really good player in this league someday. If New York was to give him the opportunity, I believe that he would earn more minutes but it’s hard to earn more minutes when you don’t really get a chance,” James said.

“With how the game has changed, with speed and quickness and being an uptempo game, he should be a rotation guard,” James said. “He can play as well as any point guard in the NBA and he can probably defend any point as good in the NBA.”

He will play next after little Smith... you know he had this 26 point game in DL lately...

Was hoping that this was gonna be supported by someone like Woodson guaranteeing he would play. No such luck. Looking forward to Chris Smith roulette.

“(Murry) is a young player that hasn’t been under the big lights yet and we got to give him a shot and is a player. I think he’s got the skills, but again this will be something new for him.”, Woodson said.

The question is why didnt he get a chance --even in a 3 guard alignment to play some ball? We couldve easily used both Aldich and Murry in something other than clean up minutes.

Sorry but with our record, there has been plenty of clean up garbage minutes!

Yeah, I don't understand why NBA coaches just don't get that they're just one Harvard grad away from an 18-6 record? That the thing to do is to always remember that sitting at the end of the bench doesn't necessarily mean that what you see in hundreds of camps, practices and shootarounds is not really, truly what a player is capable of. That every single player at the tail end of every single NBA roster is possibly just waiting for the chance to be the next LockdowndefensivespecialistBlockMachineEnergyGlueHighIQGuy.

That guys posting on internet boards obviously know more than NBA coaching staffs do. Seriously.

What Woody is saying here is the same approach he took with Chris Copeland.

Now if Woody would had invested in Copeland and Murray the wAY HE INVESTED IN "YOU WANNA GET THE PIPE" JR Smith, we wouldn't have this timidity problem under the big lights as the season went along. He tried to stick Cope in at the end of the season and the 2nd season, why not in the middle of the season ,

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

maybe he was not ready? We used to say the same about MDA and "ExtraE". These guys do well and we yell "why not sooner??" Do we know how he is doing in practice? Decision making? turn overs?

I don't think you do.

Except that's not exactly the case here. You're exagerrating when you imply anyone touting giving Murry a shot thinks he's some savior. The issue is that our _starters and secondary guards_ ARE ACTUALLY atrocious. Our _starting and secondary guards_ are SO BAD and/or SO INJURED, that we have nothing to lose and everything to gain simply by giving Murry a shot and seeing what he can do. Just talking defense, it is not possible to be any worse than our current rotation players.

OK, so I get the arguments defending Woodson's performance _to the extant_ that no other available coach could do a much better job given the current state of the team. However, there is literally NO excuse that he has not given this kid one minute of play, just to see. To me, it's inexplicable and ridiculous that Woodson hasn't even played him a minute.

I think he's been a bit over hyped, so I'm not putting big expectations on him. However I think we need some young, hungry players to get some PT- I'm fed up of lazy vets. So looking forward to seeing him develop over the next few weeks.

I'd rather her see him in a 2 PG set playing off the ball, but this will do. This kid has earned playing time, I hope he can make the most of it. It will be one of the few bright spots on this season.

Murray plays valiantly in clean up, but when he goes up against starters now, he plays a little nervous. This is where Woody won't allow him to play thru the jitters like he does JR's clank exhibition.

We were blessed by the basketball gods with Linsanity and p***ed away the free gift because Dolan felt he was disloyal- they won't shine their light on us again
