This is a hypothetical move/idea but could we theoretically trade JR to Portland for essentially Dorell Wright and Meyers Leonard? I kinda think that Portland has enough structure and heady veteran player to weather Smith's lows, while providing a platform to maximize his highs. On the flip, I think what we'd be receiving better improves our 2015 cap space and gives us a talented young big man that could be something for us down the road.

The weed out there in Portland is killer, JR would remind the fans of the "JailBlazers"

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Hopefully that means he'd be willing to be out there. That's half the battle to succeeding with a team.

They just drafted someone who's role will be the same as what JRs would be, but with none of the other crap. Blazers had enough JRs back in the 'Jailblazers' era (I actuality liked that team!)- they have no desire to go back. They're doing great this season, why would they risk destroying team chemistry for someone who's play isn't even good enough to put up with the immaturity?

They have fewer sunny days in Portland. JR needs to be cheerful!

"Theoretically". Yup, theoretically. If Portland wasn't a well-managed, smart, team. The odds of Portland taking Smith for a box of used Kleenex is zilch.
