Can he be a star by the time our 2015 cap space rolls around?

I'm a Duke fan and I've watched every game he's played in college thus far. The way he scores reminds me of a young Melo; he's very fluid & lithe without being overly athletic. His range is more on par with Robinson at this stage, although he will never average 30 ppg playing for Coach K as GR did at Purdue.

At this point in their careers, Melo and GR were better rebounders than Parker. They both averaged about 9-10 in college, and Parker is at about 8. But, not bad.

It's been said that Parker needs to work on his post and perimeter defense, and that's true. He's still learning the college game. But I have no doubt that he will strengthen these things under Coach K. His effort is definitely there, he's had 6 blocks in a game already.

What I've liked about Parker is that he never seems to get flustered. He's super-focused on the game and cool-headed. His attitude actually reminds me of Grant Hill's. That will serve him well in the pros.

I think he has all the potential in the world to be a star and impact a team fairly quickly. Wiggins, by comparison, has more athleticism and is a better defender, but is very raw. He's a longer term project. I would be happy with either one, but I am more partial to Parker since I've seen much more of him and I'm a Dukie.

I'm a fan of Duke University as well but I don't pay attention to college athletics, although Parker is changing some of that. As far as his intangibles are concerned, how is he? Does his points come within the flow of the offense or is he breaking plays?

Flow of offense. He usually scores very quickly, however, once in a while when he knows he can shoot over his man, he'll dribble for a moment or two and shoot. But I've never seen him hold onto the ball for a super-long time while other guys stand around watching him. (I don't think Coach K would allow that, anyway.) He's also been very efficient thus far, shooting about 55% from the field & 47% from three, although we'll truly see what he's made of when conference play starts.

Like I said earlier, he's got a great mindset, I've never seen him be rattled or flustered. Very Grant Hill in his demeanor. His effort on defense is there but, yeah, that's an area that could stand to improve.

Come the start of 2015-2016, what will he look like in the NBA? Would this projected model hold true in New York? Why or why not?
