I'm sure you guys have seen this today: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/post/_/id/51320/sources-lakers-call-knicks-about-shumpert.

Not really sure what I'd want -- don't really want any part of their 3 PGs: Blake, Nash or Farmar. It would have to be Wesley Johnson or Jordan Hill. But why would the Lakers do that? I'd rather have both of those players over Shump if I were Kupchak -- WJ is the higher ceiling SG talent and they need Hill now that Gasol has declined. Just curious what you guys think about this.

And curious: who's the better player if both happen to be on the table -- Wesley Johnson or Dion Waiters?

Personally, I don't think I'd trade Shumpert straight up for another SG, even one that might be a little better. I think I'd want to trade him for either a pick or for a young big man around the same age that's capable of producing now and for years to come. If we did that, we'd still have JR and THJ at 2 (plus Murry) -- I could then go out and get a SG for free like a Chris Douglas-Roberts or a Dominique Jones to fill in as an extra off guard if the need arose (and probably come out way ahead in the end---that would be my goal: to come out ahead at 2 positions).

Looks like no trades today- I'm surprised, thought we had one or two already lined up. Was hoping we'd get rid of some of the sulkers- we have too many moody people on this team: Beno, Chump, JR, MWP. Need to clear some of them out.

How about Nash + Kaman for Chandler straight up.

This sounds more like Dolan Kobe Bryant on his way to NY for Chandler, Shumpert, & JR Smith.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

it is likely CAA starting/stirring rumors and creating a hype to where Melo wants to go
LA

They will try to guage which team might have interest, if they value Melo, and more importantly is willing to pay to KEEP him
It is like Nets vs NY over gain, its just no idiot will pay what we payed, not at his age, not with this CBA

If teams are trading players that play the exact same positions, one team (the lakers) is looking to fleece the other (knicks).
Rose is not the answer.

just like I said would happen earlier

Melo will make him sound like the victim before he leaves us, he is too predictable

Melo: I need help from teammates
----------------------------------------

Here's Carmelo Anthony talking about what went wrong in the final minutes of the Knicks' loss to Boston on Friday.

"We all have to step up to those challenges. It's not every night I'm going to bail us out. We should know that," he said.

And here's Anthony talking about his teammates after last Wednesday's loss to Chicago.

"[Sometimes], they're just looking for me to make something happen," he said. "We've got to get away from that. We've got to get better at that. We will."

He's not exactly shouting it from the rooftop of his Manhattan high-rise, but Anthony's making it clear that he needs help from his teammates.

The Knicks offense clicked well in Saturday's win over Atlanta, but Anthony has a point.

J.R. Smith is averaging just 10.4 points per game after scoring 18.1 per night last season. Iman Shumpert has totaled eight points in his last 111 minutes on the court.

And you can't count on much offense from Pablo Prigioni.

Injuries, of course, have affected Anthony's supporting cast.

Tyson Chandler has been out since Nov. 5 with a broken leg. Raymond Felton has been in and out of the lineup with hamstring and hip issues.

And Anthony himself deserves some share of the blame here.

He's scoring nearly two points per game fewer than he did last season and shooting a a lower percentage from beyond the arc for the 7-16 Knicks.

But Anthony's teammates are giving him less offensive support this year than last year's group did.

Last season, all Knicks not named Anthony who played at least 14 minutes per game shot a combined 44.1 percent from the floor.

This season, all Knicks other than Anthony playing at least 14 minutes per game are shooting a combined 42.6 percent from the floor.

That's not a huge disparity.

But the Knick offense is relying more on Anthony this season than it did last year.

This year, the players averaging at least 14 minutes per game not named Anthony are scoring 70.6 percent of New York's total points. Last season, those players averaging more than 14 minutes totaled 75.8 percent of the Knicks' points.

To further Anthony's point, it seems like the Knicks are better off with a stronger supporting cast and a little less from Anthony.

The Knicks beat the Magic and Nets by more than 30 points apiece earlier this month. Anthony took a total of 22 shots in those wins.

Clearly, Anthony isn't throwing his teammates under the bus. But his words and actions show that he's looking for more support.

"I believe in [my teammates] just as much as they believe in me. They've got to know that," Anthony said earlier this week. "They've got to believe that and they've got to play ball coming down the stretch, too."

I am sick of this DIVA, the selfish prick always WANTS TO BE THE HERO, and not play serious TEAM BASKETBALL,
Now that he is losing, he wants to deflect the blame, well, he didn't have a problem with "I NEED HELP WITH A BROKEN SHOULDER" taking 30 shots to score 30 points
He didn't need help then, he wanted more ISO's and have the ball in his hands, he wanted Lin out because he the fans appreciated what he brought and did for the team

Well you had help, DIVA, you sent him to Houston with your RIDICULOUS JEALOUSY
You could have gotten more help and we could have kept much more assets if you would have said "I AM NOT SIGNING AN EXTENSION WITH ANY TEAM EXCEPT NYK'S, something Donnie Walsh was waiting for you to say, because he knew we had leverage over Denver, but you wanted to protect your "image" and not be the villain that Lebron was for awhile when he left Cleveland

Well guess what, he has 2 rings, as he took less money to build a team, and he is 5 things you are not

a 2x NBA CHAMPIONSHIP MVP
a LEADER
a MAX PLAYER
an ELITE DEFENDER
and
an ALL STAR that players wants to play with

your will continue to be a selfish diva, a robin that thinks he is superman, and lets not forget a NCAA champion and a one time scoring title champion because Durant gave 2 ****s about it last season

so continue to chase your fake STAT's because and count your money because you will go downhill from here....

I have said this in the past,
Yes, I would rather have Rudy Gay than you, you are a complete joke, and you are not worth a MAX salary because you are NOT a winner or any of the above
At least he realizes he is just a scorer and needs to develop other parts of his game and needs a TEAM
And he will always be a much better defender than you and have a chance on getting it mentally than your dumb ass and the things that come out of your mouth....

Your own team mates and coaches have told you all this in the past, but you insist to have EVERYTHING RUN THROUGH YOU because you can generate STAT's, no matter how inefficient it might be, and NEVER WANTED TO CHANGE, but now when we lose, you want to point the finger at your team mates?????

I don't even want you to take a discount to be part of this franchise anymore, get your big black book of Chris Smith and your vet min's elsewhere

What do you guys think about the little nugget at the end? The Lakers are mulling a Pau/Chandler trade offer. More BS?

Ron Ron I'm so glad it's not your choice. You are just like any other fan. Your opinion means nothing. So why bother. Melo have been playing more minuets that any player in the league. When it comes to Melo you are irrelevant because we all know how you feel about him. This team mess up is not Melo's fault. Blame the front office. They talk too much. The 2 games that we won by 30 points the guys were hitting their shots so there was no need for Melo to carry them. Are you blind or what? Have you seen the bricks these players have been throwing up? Melo can't depend on JR Smith or Shump. Be glad we have Melo

PapaBear, I could have took stabs at you when you were going at it with misterearl in the other posts because it was unnecessary
I don't want to argue with you over nonsense.....

Nothing has changed from the way Melo has played, he wanted to be the goto MAN
HE ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY HERO BALL since day 1 he got here and Woody has been enabling him, but this time around, it isn't working.....

So instead, he cannot accept his choices and ISO play that he preferred doesn't work, and that he needs help *WHEN HE WAS THE ONE THAT KICKED LIN OFF THE TEAM"
He was the one that wanted to initiate the OFFENSE despite Lin running, winning, and playing a style that EVERYONE on the team excelled and liked, a style that all NYK fans and bball fans valued and enjoyed seeing...

So instead, he plays the victim role, when he isn't happy, when he wants change.....
He is playing the victim role like he once did when he was not happy in Denver before and after he left
When he did it when he didn't appreciate George Karl's comments on BALL FLOW and TEAM BALL
when he was not happy with Dantoni, and when he was running the OFFENSE through Lin, but the TEAM WAS WINNING

And now, with all these rumors surfacing on LA CLippers and now Laker's, and Melo playing the INNOCENT/VICTIM ROLE AGAIn
I am a Knick's fan, NOT A MELO a fan, you are so caught up between defending Melo that you don't even realize what he is doing and saying

"We all have to step up to those challenges. It's not every night I'm going to bail us out. We should know that," he said.

"[Sometimes], they're just looking for me to make something happen," he said. "We've got to get away from that. We've got to get better at that. We will."

HE IS DEFLECTING BLAME, saying other's cannot stand around and watch me, but he is the one that wanted this since day 1
He was the one that wanted Lin gone and wanted to initiate the OFFENSE through him, even though Lin made EVERYONE better with a less talented roster, when he was unable to do so
He had NO PROBLEM playing this way his entire career, he played this way through his so called "INJURIES in the Pacer's series"
If he really had a problem as other's stood around and did NOTHING, he would have said so earlier, and NOT NOW

TRUTH IS HE prefers playing that way, just so he can generate STAT's, to justify his next contract, but that is not happening with the way we are performing, and so he must find an excuse to EVENTUALLY leave the team without saying so "so another team can have his bird rights and pay him the max possible that he can get at a 5 year deal"

THIS IS THE SAME CRAP that he did with DENVER against us, his unwillingness to SAY "I WILL NOT SIGN AN EXTENSION with NO ONE BUT NYK" to protect his own image but was more important than going to a team saving asset's and players around him, so he could still contend

Well, I am not blind, I see through it, and I am calling it out as I see it, and I have said this was going to happen earlier in my posts already
He is generic and a phony, repeats the same BS, all for HIMSELF, it is always been about him, and him alone

What has George Karl, Dantoni, Amare, Lin, Iman, Chandler, and so on have said?
They need to keep the ball moving and hit the OPEN MAN
But it NEVER BOTHERED him, in fact he denied it, but consistently takes 30 shots a game and hitting 30% of his shots, NEVER HAVING A PROBLEM WITH IT, EVEN IN THE PLAYOFFS

BUT NEVER ONCE has he ever said anything about it, in fact he calls for the ball and DEMANDS it take the final shot over ruling our PG's, and always taking the last HERO SHOT to win or tie, regardless if anyone of his team mates are open and/if they are on FIRE or not

Watch the Pacer's series, if he was really hurt, he wasn't hurt enough NOT to take 30 shots, and quickly comes in, missing after missing, when Copeland/Iman/JR brought us back from a deficit with ball movement and wide open 3pter's

So, YES, I AM PISSED, I am pissed because he is NOT MANNING UP, and the whole time, all these coaches, players, and team mates have said it over and over again
But he insist to play that way because he generates STAT's that way so he can chase his scoring title, so he can generate more STAT's for his next contract despite signing a 100m contract and a team trading half a team to acquire him, only to REPEAT what everyone has been saying to him but pointing it back right at his team mates

Well, Lin was help, he kicked him off the stage because he wanted it to be his and his alone, if anyone seriously thinks Lin could not help this team much more than Felton, when in fact we could have had both.....

In fact Lin's penetration and ability to facilitate, him pushing the tempo, his style of play, and his ability to generate better shots, and run a team would bring us more W's than L's, Melo has delivered upon us, just like the start of 2011 on Iman's rookie year/career....

We have spent much more money than what Lin was making and going to make with a 80m+ in contracts, 2nd highest in the league, just so Melo can be happy but now he wants to leave and play that finger pointing game but you continue to defend him

I have to wonder if you are in fact a KNICK FAN as you say you are or a Melo fan
cause you are blinded by his repetitive DIVA BS, he want's out, and CAA is working their magic to see who might be willing to pay him and trade for him
Cause Dolan's comments about WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP right after Melo talked about OPTING OUT AND WANTING TO BE A FA and courted, was NOT A COINCIDENCE
HE was telling Melo STFU, "I have done everything for you and you have not delivered SHIT, and now you want to talk about opting out and getting a max contract

Well Dolan might be stupid, but he is NOT going to give him a max extension with the way he and his TEAM his performing
So now, Melo knows that, and he needs to find another buyer because Dolan is not paying him that max money with the way we are playing and MELO IS pointing the blame back to his team mates....

i was open to keeping Melo if he was in fact willing to recruit players and ALL STAR levels of talent, which would require him to take a pay cut, at least for just 1 year

but

it isn't happening, he will and always will be selfish, and it will always be just about him

I don't need to hear his BS, at this point, the locker room is just going to be the way it was in Denver before he was traded to NYK
ARKWARD

It was a relief for the coach, his ex team mates, and the fan's in Denver when he left
In fact they were happy with what they got for him.....

Cause they knew, all MELO had to say was "I AM NOT SIGNING an EXTENSION with ANY TEAM but NYK's" but he chose to protect his image first rather and care about his salary 2nd
Donnie Walsh was setting him up to say it but he wouldn't do so, as Walsh knew he was suppose to have all the leverage in the world if he really wanted to to go back HOME and in fact wanted to contend...

Well, the rest is history, he didn't say it, and Dolan decided to step in despite what EVERYONE told him not to do except Isiah and some stupid ass posters here

and

Now he will leave while we continue to pay for the price of acquiring him, along with all the horrible deals we made AFTER, just because we had no leverage and had to WIN NOW....
Well we have won one play off series, and one Atlantic Title, and some treat it like it is just as good as a Championship when we didn't even compete vs Indiana last season in the playoffs, they were blowing us out from start to finish majority of each game, if we did have leads, NO MATTER how much it quickly evaporated with the style of play we had last season

but

MELO had no problem with it then, why does he say something now?

Think about it, PapaBear, WHY IS HE SAYING ALL THAT HE IS SAYING NOW when he has been playing this style the whole time when EVERYONE on the team was not happy with the lack of ball movement???

This is the last time, I will let you defend Melo, before I PUT YOU ON FULL BLAST
