Not a sign of anything. Interesting to speculate though. He probably just didn't want to be a distraction with the certain Fire Woodson chants that will be happening.

I'll be there tonight, and I might for the first time in my life partake in a Fire chant. But I'll be yelling Fire Dolan.

you might be reading more to it than it really is.

Heck, maybe the knicks are so ugly, he doesn't want to have to call the game.

As to what it would change if he came back? Assuming he had some influence in the roster - maybe lots.

He's just being classy- he knew it would be awkward and undermining to Woody if he turned up to the game, I wouldn't assume its because he's about to take over.

Thing with JVG is he's obsessed with coaches rights and how they get unfairly fired etc, so it's ridiculous to believe that he'd be working behind the scenes to remove Woody- I think he was being honest when he talked about the rumors on that radio show.

He should have been fired after the New Orleans loss. As much as I'm not a fan of what Woodson has done, it's a shame the true culprit can't be held accountable.

Yea I think you nailed it

But wait, if he is in fact not doing the game because he is worried about perceptions, then doesn't that meant there is some truth to the rumors? That perhaps Mills/Dolan has already reached out to his reps?

JVG is a real pro...no way he skips the game unless it has an actual conflict of interest in some way. Barring personal reasons for his missing the call, I think it's safe to assume that the rumors may have some legs.

Yep he got a bum hand with injuries, got undermined by Dolan etc, but he's played his part- bad rotations, lack of adjustments, terrible coaching of Iman, bad substitutions, bad end of game coaching, plus he can no longer get the team to play hard or even show up.

I would like to to see JVG come back. I really don't think Woodson has done a bad job. Dolan is a terrible owner and this roster is not well put together. But at this point you need to change something and I've always liked JVG.

On another note - I think this team is better then it's played so far. I think Chandler at his worst still makes a huge impact on this teams defense and if he comes back and plays like he did two years ago this team will improve instantly.

Still lots of other problems but I'm hoping that with a new coach and a healthy Chandler things will take a turn for the better.

It's definitely a sign he's not coming back here in my opinion. He's so bothered by the speculation he won't even step foot in our building.

I do think it's possible that JVG gets the job but it won't be until woodson is let go. Now or the offseason

I for one was waiting on him to call the game, he would have reminded the national audience(not just NY fans) where the blame should go and why.

Him not showing up shows me he can't take the pressure of being in NY anymore even as a Analyst Announcer.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Maybe DOlan gonna can Woodson before the game. Dolan is a classless piece of crap.
