Tim Hardaway Jr., New York

Picking up right where he left off in college, Hardaway Jr. has been a reliable perimeter scorer who can really shoot the ball (43 percent 3s) and someone willing to play through contact offensively. Hardaway, the 24th pick, has significantly outplayed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, whom Detroit took 8th overall, and who has not defended or shot especially well. It would be a big plus for Hardaway if he improved his pick-and-roll game, because he possesses a similar skill set as embattled shooting guard, J.R. Smith.

Match THJr with a point guard who can push the tempo, against any opposition, and the entire playing personality of our beloved Knicks changes for the better.

A clone of Michael Carter Williams would be ideal.

What's so funny?

He's better than Shump! I think the dude has real potential. He's going to get better. Don't be surprised if the kid is a starter next year. Klay Thompson son.

edit: ok maybe not klay Thompson but maybe cuttino mobley? I keep thinking of him

THJr makes either JRSmith or Iman (maybe both) expendable.

The most difficult positions to find quality upgrades will be at point guard and center/ 6'11+ forward

Quality (100% healthy) depth, (inconsistent bench performance), is an issue

THJr will only improve.

He'll improve, but most rooks hit the wall. Or the sophmore slump. Then we throw them in as trades.

Shump becomes expendible as HardJr improves.

There is nothing to see here. I hear all the time late 1st round draft picks are useless.

Shumps shot is better.... but I think he talks a good game but is as soft as any player we have. He has to be mad to play well? Yeah ok.... how about he sucked in summer league. That wasn't a fluke. He's sucked so far now. Don't blame anybody else Cuz that is the sucka way out. Either you can play or not.

edit: let him go to Atlanta where nobody cares and average 12pts per game on a mediocre team. Go play on the heat or the spurs and let a good team mask your flaws. I bet coach pop wouldn't even let him out his suit

You believe Shump's shot is better? Hardaway is a sharpshooter from 3, Shumpert has been off and on (mostly off) and Hardaway is already a superior finisher especially in transition.

I like him but I won't hype him up only to be disappointed. He's a nice young player, I'm not going to talk about star potential or any of that gibberish like many of us did with shump. Not every player with talent that we draft is a star. He looks good, if he gets better that would be great. One thing he has working for him is the family pedigree of nba excellence, hopefully his dad will be able to help him through any struggles he has like a sophomore slump.

That's the thing this kid is self driven. He doesn't need his pops. They both will tell you they had a rough relationship at home Cuz they butt heads. I think Hardaway has a natural fire and will be driven to improve. I never saw that in Shump.

Don't be like that dude, I just thought the statement was questionable. I get that you don't like him.

MSg3 - The Answer Man feels your pain... still, even if you "blow it up" you cannot just trash an entire roster.

THJr stays. Just because.

Ok now I see the confusion.....

I was trying to say Shumps shot got better from last year.

Duh... Hardaway is the better shooter. Don't need stats for that
