...that this is the year we're going to be in the lottery. The year that Denver gets our pick from the Melo trade. I was such a huge supporter of it. Sorry for another Melo thread. Not really about him. More about Dolan and the way this team is run. Such misery being a fan of this team.

Very true. The Isiah Thomas Era Part 2 lol. Denever waited for some team to overpay and since James Dolan is moron he did just that. They really need to look into getting back some value for melo before he walks. We wont get as much as denver got but i would be happy getting a young piece and a 1st

Wouldn't really say Denver waited for someone to overpay. They tried over and over to get him to agree to an extension and when reality hit they put him on the block while trying to get him to reconsider. They had multiple deals agreed to with Nj for far more (favors and 4 1st round picks) but Melo wouldn't agree to an extension there either. Our current circumstances make the situation appear much different than it really is. Ultimately it comes down to getting negative production from amare, something we never could have imagined.

Melo is here because of Amare in first place.
When Dolan took over Melo dealing and put Walsh aside practically negating all work done in 2 years to reconstruct the team this team became doomed. All the rest is history.
Melo is by the way another victim of Dolans ineptitude. He lost 2 best years of his prime on the dead end team.
He may be contributed to his own fallout but most of the blame goes to MSG front office and Dolan himself.

And to think Melo could have just walked here and signed as a free agent. We would have a DEEP team (at least via trades, picks, etc.) and now we are lotto bound with no pick.

Sort of sweet justice though as Dolan just destroys what he touches, no wonder why he plays blues. Seriously, think about it. Self fulfilling prophecy.
Even though I pin this on Dolan, I also pin it on the greed of Melo, you reap what you so brother.

Deepest draft in YEARS and we have Zero picks, not even in the second round.

And even more depressing is that this is the second time in a decade that this has happened to us. And likely will happen again when we give up ANOTHER unprotected pick in 2016.

Even without Amare, we have $65 mil in players. If you have $65 mil to spend, you should be able to put something much better than this together. $65 mil is more than about half the league's teams have right now on their entire rosters. How are Houston, Portland, Denver, Dallas, and many other teams managing to win games? Talking about Amare is just a distraction from the fact that this is an an awful roster.

Even if Amare was back to full health the roster is flawed. Actually Amare and Melo don't fit on the same 1-5 anyway. They both clog the same areas of the floor, they are both top of the key area players.
Rose is not the answer.

Yeah, this team has never looked good with both on the floor together

I dont know how much more of this I can take. Ive endured a lot of bad basketball over the years but giving away a Top 3 pick in a loaded draft might be the last straw. I'm not going to be able to watch Denver get a franchise cornerstone for the next decade. If we had that pick we would be in fantastic shape, cap room coming and Jabari Parker to build around. Instead we have no picks , aging players, and no hope. We will never see a championship as long as Dolan is in charge. I hope you guys have flashlights and a ton of batteries because we are headed into 10 more years of complete darkness. The Knicks Blow they blow dont know what else to say
