Everyone talks about Melo moving the ball. To who is he going to depend on to knock down a shot. They can't shoot the ball thats why his assists are low. JR played for a contract last year and Felton thinks he's a shooter but he is not. No way can this team the way it's put together can they win. They will wear down Melo. You can't blame Melo if he bounce after this season. And Amare talking about moving the ball around. What a joke. The man have butter fingers. In all due respect he needs to retire and we pay him to work as a coach or in some other way. I doubt if we make the playoffs. Our only hope will be if Amaer retires. Since he wants to play let him play until he realize that its over for him and he is killing the team with his salary. Dolan and Woodson got in Shump's head and he is done. He loved New York and I think he feels he's been betrayed by Woodson and Dolan. If I was Melo I would be afraid to pass the ball to someone who you know is going to throw up a brick.
Well by me being a die hard Knicks fan it hurts. We will see whats in Melo's heart at the end of this season and if Amare really cares about this team he would retire and get paid another way by Dolan. Amare would have signed for 4 years with the Knicks why 5 years I will never know. We should have Amisteed Amare.

Kevin Durant's teammates shot below 40% in the playoffs but he averaged over 6 assists a game - almost 7 in the 2nd round. You're overestimating the impact of teammate quality on assist totals. It matters a little but not a lot. Having teammates who shoot 48% instead of the Knicks 42% - making an extra 6 out of every 100 shots - would give only a tiny boost to a player's assist totals.

Welcome to the dark side??? Are you joking? That may be you but not me. I will always be a die hard Knicks fan. You must have read my post wrong. And Melo is always double teamed and the others are not and still can't knock down a shot. Until the Knicks player prove they can knock down shots players from the other team will ignore them and let them shot because the percentages say they will brick the shot.

I would not call the team trash that is a word that a lot of haters use and I'm not calling you a hater because I know you are not. I will only say that when Dolan and Woody got in Shumps head and then told him that he probably would loose his starting job to JR Smith and the trade rummors just crushed Shump. Chandler being out injured and the biggest thing of all was the signing of Chriss Smith and they really needed another big man. That was really politics at its worse. Also Dolan letting the GM go at the start of the season. You see there were many things that hurt this team. They needed another shooter and they depended on JR Smith. Other teams now can tripple team Melo because they know the other players can't shoot or defend.

Thos things were seen even those icidents happened.

Everyone knew this team needed better pg play and a legitimate backup big....and that just roster related.

we questioned the leadership of this squad before the season started.

Even before all of these episodes, some knew this team would not be as good, and they arent.

Which is exactly why I placed my expectations low....not disappointed at because I didnt expect much.

just didnt think they'd be this bad.

I specifically referred to the playoffs because Westbrook was out.
Those so called "better players" couldn't even shoot 40%.
Regarding who does Melo have, the answer is "better scorers than Durant had when he averaged 7 assists a game"

Bonn Bonn when it comes to Melo you are irreverent because you are very bias come on now the reason why Durant had assists was because the player he sent the ball to made shots and Melos players didn't.Kidd was thinking about coaching the Net texing back and forth. We all know how you feel about Melo. enough said I don't respect your opinion on Melo you are bias bro.

hahaha. What I say has no relevance - but you still have to reply and get the last word!
And no, it's the exact opposite of what you said in bold. I don't know why you can't comprehend the idea that Durant's teammates were hitting a lower percentage of their shots than Melo's shot. It should be clear to anyone whose head isn't in the sand that no matter how many all-star, Olympian, future HOF teammates Melo has, he won't get many assists.

there is a total correlation between passing to find the open man and FG %!!!!
Melo is 170th !! if FG % in NBA, yet, leads league in attempts. Something very wrong with that.

The enabling of Melo by this coach is remakrble, though, given that MDA got pushed out because he didn't enable Melo coulndt have been lost on Woodson.

The ball is in Melo and Smith's hands way too often, and both are shoot-first types.

Hit the open man is not nostalgia - its a wise strategy, but not part of this team's DNA

can't tell if melo is finally playing hard because

1)he is auditioning or
2)because he is trying to save face after his "i want to test free agency" gaffe or
3)he is trying in his own extremely misguided way to help the team win

his game is very weird to watch this season, almost like he is about to have a nervous breakdown.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Pretty sure he is trying to win. Not sure what your angle is with 'finally playing hard' though.

He's probably referring to the fact that Melo is actually taking rebounding seriously now

yeah i mean across the board everything is virtually the same as last year except his rebounds are up a lot and his TS% is way down. he looks like the same lousy defender as always. with everything we know about his agenda before the season you have to question his motives for his approach this year. his game is kind of schizo....

It really dosen't matter if the Knicks move the ball around they just can't shoot. Here's why.
