Its only 2 games, but Frank clearly showed the kind of toughness Isiah I'm sure loved. If Houston does struggle to come back do you consider this move?

If you go with a basic rotation of Frank, Marbury, TT and Penny at the 1,2,3 next year you always have 3 players on the floor with superior ball handling skills and I have always loved that dynamic on the court. Also both Marbury and Frank can defend bigger players and Frank is clearly a better on the ball defender.

Also having Frank defend the other team's PG can save Marbury some energy on the offensive end.

not a stretch but we would need a consistent jumpshooter. allan, if healthy, solves that but then marbury has to be the pg. we're more likely looking at a 3 guard rotation of marbury, allan, and frank with penny backing up TT. but of course, if anyone struggles, then penny can move to the guard. we can only get away with a frank/marbury backcourt if we have a jumpshooter on the wing (maybe tim but he's not consistent enough) or a bigman down low that can score.

I think TT is good enough to stretch the D. With Frank, TT and Steph you good range as well as versatility.

96 minutes to spread between Allan, Frank, and starbury.

Even if Allan comes back, STeph should only play 38-40 per nite, allen 34-38 min, thats 20-24 min per nite for Frank. Plenty!

Next year is his 3rd, after he becomes restricted free agent.

we might have to think about trading him this summer as he might fetch more than we can cough up next summer. If we can get a 1st round pick, it might work. Package him and Kurt to utah?? OR elsewhere.

no.. after his 3rd year is up we have a team option (which we will surely take). Then he's an RFA so we could match any offer on him. If none is made he comes back for the qualifying offer in year 5, but my guess is he would get an offer and we would match (gladly)

after god knows how many years of not having a true PG, we finally get one and now you guys are talking about moving him to the 2. You all are nuts!!! 2-Guards are a dime a dozen these days, but Centers and PGs are becoming a rare breed. Please, we need to keep Steph at the 1, for the love of Knicks humanity!

that is what they should do if Allan is done, which I doubt with all the rest he's going to have under his belt.

My position is that only 2-3 players in the NBA have Steph's pure ability at PG. I don't think moving him to SG maximizes his contributions. However, it does make sense to play FW at PG and Steph at SG for 10-15 mins a game and situationally. Allan Houston does not need to play 40 mins. any more...to keep him healthy we need to get him down to 30.

I agree, we have to find minutes for frank, period. I think we can use him like the kings use bobby Jackson... That would benefit both the knicks and frankie next season..

AS nalod said, there's plenty of time to share between Fwill, houston and steph.

You kill 2 birds with one stone : give our starters some rest and find PT for Frank.

I like the idea of atleast giving that back court a try, but only if Houston is still out. Hopefully next season Lenny will be bringing Frank off the bench semi early (assuming both Lenny and Frank are still here)
