I did a little background research to figure out who our pick would've been in 2012 if we kept it and noticed that Houston used it to get Royce White. As much as the dude hasn't played a single NBA game since that draft night, his talent is tantalizing. He could do everything in college and do it well. Dude could ball! I think he actually might be a talent that you accommodate a degree of bull**** with because of how rare and flawless his game is. Am I alone in thinking so?

yes

As happy as I am about that pick not working out for Houston, I think they did the right thing when handling his situation. From what I read, R.White came off as ungrateful and vain

Dude has all world talent. His anxiety disorder wasn't about bring anxious to do stuff. It was more like he wanted special treatment because he was too egotistical. That might be a byproduct of the disorder, but if the dude is crazy like that he shouldn't be playing pro ball. Good luck finding a job dude. Corporate America and a desk job. Maybe the ceo will give up their corner office suite so he can have enough Windows and space Cuz of his anxiety.

Excuse me if I'm insensitive but pro sports is a gift. To many talented guys out there to take his spot. He needs to get help. The rickets pay him big money now for nothing so he can get that help. Take your needs and invest your money and work like the rest of us.

We've got Chris Smith on the roster. If we're willing to bite the bullet for that kid, why not a guy that has real talent. We should have the means to accommodate him and his disorder if we're willing. After all, Iowa State managed to.

That's the thing though, nothing has ever been confirmed and we haven't gotten details about Royce's side of the story aside from the few instances where he suggested that Houston reneged on earlier agreements. We've got all the money in the world on this team to accommodate him and his illness. The size of Chris Smith's head would suggest that he has to take the short bus to the Garden and if he gets special treatment, why not do it for a guy with actual talent?

100% agree. The only annoying fact is that the guy already made 4-5 mil doing absolutely nothing but whining on Twitter. He can live a very comfortable life without working a single day - even by his high standards.

The nba is not a church league. It's a world class situation where the players dont have to do anything. I'm sure tans him up their families and provide anything they want within reason. Any team can accommodate him. But if it's to the point where he's demanding royal treatment and can't play because of it than he needs to get a job at ups packing boxes or something. So what he can play ball? He's got to be professional and function within the team. I'm sure players have needs. Diabetes...asthma....didn't a player have turrets and Muslim? He needed to be excused if he caught an episode plus he needed special places to pray at practice home and on the road. Teams can accommodate.

Royce is of the hook with it and he already had organizations for people with disabilities breathing down their back. Fuck it dude go take the Civil Service test man I'm sorry.

The Rockets never paid him since he did not play in any games.

I work in mental health and I get annoyed when Royce White is heralded as being a spokesperson- he isn't. His issue isn't anxiety, it's the s***y attitude he's had since last season. Came into this season with new surroundings and a second chance and turned up out of shape and complaining. Eventually you have to take some responsibility for yourself instead of blaming everyone else.

If he hates flying so much why not haev a career in Europe where the games are closer to get around by train and there are no back to backs' You might not make as much but he has peace of mind. Money is not everything he can still make a very decent sum and live life.

I guess he hates boat rides too.

I feel bad for anyone with an anxiety disorder, but it sounds like White is forgetting who picked this profession. He wanted an independent doctor to decide when he can and can't play. The team wouldn't know until the last minute wether or not he would be available. You do that for established vets who have given up their body for the league, not some rookie with no track record, trying to paint himself as a martyr.
