I believed that we would be better off with Bargs from that 54 win team--but Ive been fooled by what I thought we would have compared to reality. Reality is we had a one year phenomonom based on having a bunch of older winning vets led by Jason Kidd who changed this team. I guess the first marker I shouldve seen was the resigning of JR Smith than the adding of his brother who DID not make this team by his play. Vet signings this year were similar to that of Brooklyn--guys who may have stepped over their peaks into the direction of career ending downslopes --you nailed it dude.
it just wasn't me, but guys like 3G and DK as well... Not that we wanted to be right about this team... but if you stepped outside of being a fan, you could see where things were headed.. the chris miss silly signing was one.. The lack of development with shumpert as well as the tension created by management... losing lin for nothing, and not addressing our rebounding and defensive needs on the front line... the silly bargnani trade....
last year, we got off to a hot but unsustainable start shooting from three point range.. then you had good play from JR smith, and jason kidd emptied his tank early playing like a knick MVP.. I stated this last year and folks got mad at me, because they thought it took credit from their favorite carmelo toy... but I said, kidd was our early season MVP..
we don't have that now, no kidd, no copeland, no hot three point shooting.. without that,we are a very ordinary team... take out chandler, and we are not good at all..
I hate it, I hate the situation we are in, but now is the time to do something about it..
