IMHO, from watching him play over the last few months, Id rather spend my money on Daniels than Crawford. Daniels is much more effecient, hes bigger-longer rebounds and plays a great team game vs. crawford who is erratic and selfish. Denver would be in good poistion to offer Daniels 7mm per for 6, a contract that Dallas couldnt match. Shows that if you believe in a second round pick, you need to do what Clev did with Boozer or what we did with Lampe. You need to sign them to 2 year deals with a team option for 3. this way you hold costs down for 3 years in case of this situation and can match any offer after 3.

exactly

Marquis is worth look at...
Isiah said that the Knicks have to find players in unorthodox ways and this guy translates into that.

I think the Knicks should have a sole plan to get either Crawford, Daniels, or Flip Murray in that order.

Crawford would have to be involved in a sign and trade that the Bulls have to agree to. Bulls could possibly get a youth for youth type of deal for Crawford which the Knicks can't compete with.

Daniels would just have to be convinced to take the 5 million exemption. That takes away the Knicks option to sign a big man. Denver, and Atlanta could over spend and give him about 7 mil. Kids tend to take the money their first time around.

Flip was an all-star until Ray came back and the Seattle coach started benching him. Seattle has a fleet of good guards and don't seem to care about Flip too much. If the Knicks took back one of their big contracts to get Flip he could easily become a Knick.

I could see Flip and Marbury in the backcourt, easy.

THe component of Daniels success was that Dallas was willing to do the leg work to find this guy, sign him, give him time to develope and the minutes to show it.

We need to find these gems and do the same. Then we dont' have to overpay or wish we had them.

Kudos to dallas for working him and Howard into the rotation. This is how good teams stay good is by cultivating players.

Look for Dallas to be a big player in the off season. They must unload either Walker or Jamison, and resign Nash.

We are set at guard with 3 man rotation of Frank, Allan and Marbs.

Our priority must be getting settled at the PF slot. Kurt Thomas needs to go if he has value. TT is really a nice backup or share minutes if and when we find a better situation.

Be nice to draft a center and develope him. Either low first round or second. That is the magic Isiah has to do!
