We might suck at the moment but at least we don't suck as bad as the Nets. They are currently down by 20 points to the similarly woeful Sacramento Kings and already have a worse record than us. It's a long NBA season but I would imagine that people are feeling foolish for thinking that they could compete with the Heat. The cherry on top is that they have NO picks for the foreseeable future. Yeah, we got it bad but at least it's not Nets-bad!

I'm devil's advocate again with the NardDog tonight. Nets have to learn together with a revamped roster. We have the same roster pretty much, and can't get it together quite yet. Nets have a chance to try new things, new schemes, and have multiple floor generals to make it work as it goes along. We will play the same way all year even if other teams put the kibosh on our ISO ball without a true floor general.

With that said, we have continuity on our side. If this negative vibe ends, juices get flowing, and the team hits their open shots, keeps the FG% 40+, and plays team D like they did in the 4th tonight for most of the game, every game, there's a lot going for us to take this division again.

MEH! I was NEVER convinced that the Nets were a powerhouse. You can't just throw a bunch of talented players together and magically it all works. The NBA is marathon and so we can't know how the Nets will play the rest of the way, but so far i'm not impressed at all that they'll be there at the end.

Knicks are only going to get better as they fit their new pieces in and get Bargs and JR in mid season form. Knicks also added Bargs, MWP, THJ, Beno, Cole, Murry to the mix and lost the old vets lockerroom input. Nets gained all of that and so IMO they shouldn't be sucking right now. When we added all those vets last year we came out ballin. Nets have no excuses.

I agree. I dont have faith in any team lead by deron

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Duplicate thread.

Same roster pretty much? Seriously? Same from when? We didn't even have a "same roster" for most of last season.

And NardDog is right on, which is something I've said from the start: If the Knicks traded away what the Nyets did for KG and PP, everyone other than tkf would be gone from this board.

Deron is Deron and has yet to display what he was in Utah. Don't worry, it's only been a few years.

JJ is what? We're still waiting for the new JoeClutch to emerge.

Bropez just makes me laugh, and is another foot injury away from resting until the playoffs.

Melo, JR, Chandler, Shump, Felton, Pablo, KMArt - That's still the bulk of the minutes, Hardaway Jr doesn't count cuz he's a draft pick. Core in tact really (for now). IMO Brooklyn added too much and have too many guys who need to be in the front seat. An injury or 2 or a couple vets jumping into the back seat and that team could get it together.

I was never impressed by the Nets moves over summer- they have a one year window, are very unlikely to win a championship and then have traded away all of their draft picks for the next decade. People will look back on it as a terrible, terrible summer.

However, it's early days- they're not as bad as they look right now. They have a lot of old alpha dogs on that team, so it's going to be tough and take a while to figure out how to play together effectively. There will also be injuries along the way. Deron has an ankle injury and

I fear a Knick/Nets playoff series though- their old celtic players would be extra motivated and Kidd has Woodys playbook and knows all our key players.

If you read any of the posts in here, everyone has Woody's playbook.
