+1. Painful to watch. Tough to root for.

Now more than ever the Knicks need a floor general. I am totally down on Felton. At this point I view him as 15 minute a night backup. He's wildly inconsistent. It seems if he's guarded by a poor defender he has big nights, but the other 66% of the time he simply doesnt bother like its just too much work.

Prigo would have been great here...10 years ago. Lin would be great now.

look it's not fun basketball and the shiny stuff is not as shiny as it was before,

desperately need a shake up, something, i don't know.

maybe manimal can snap us out of the funk

I agree about the lack of ball movement. I see Bargiani as big part of the problem. He only looks to shoot and doesn't do anything else relly well. I'd like to see him develop some chemistry with his other team mates. He could fake his shoot and pass to player cutting to the rim every now and then.

The lack of ball movement starts and ends with you-know-who.

I'd like to see him develop some chemistry with his other team mates. He could fake his shoot and pass to player cutting to the rim every now and then.

Right now, the choices are Bargs or STAT. Bargs is much better, and must suffice until the BIG trade or the next two years, whichever comes first.

smackedd - you have captured something The Answer Man observed by just watching (thanks Yogi) last night. Something intangible is off. Don't know whether it is the constant roster turnover, pounding the ball without forethought... or the expressions on their faces. Whether it is Carmelo's insipid poking of his dome when he makes a shot, or Tim Hardaway Jr mugging after his fancy dunk... there is no time for personal demonstrations, get back on defense.

The team stops when Melo has the ball you know the shot is going up. Saw Shump break down the defense a few times only to pull it back out everyone standing around the perimeter no one cutting to the basket or even going near the basket. The teammates have to step up now and call Melo out. But they won and that is good but it just covers up the problems that will most likely hurt them when they need it most.

I blame Woody and Felton for these problems too. Woody needs to get on Melo and Felton too he needs to address this. Woody needs to tell Melo anyone in the NBA can score 25 points on 25 shots, he is averaging 1 assist for every 7 shots. There is just to much jump shooting going on there is no balance.

What kills us is when Melo goes cold and decides that him breaking out of the shooting slump (rather than winning the game) is now the priority- in the 3rd pointer he suddenly decided he would have to shoot his way out of his funk- it's like nothing else mattered. He was oblivious to his team mates, oblivious to the Hawks defense- just tunnel vision on shooting the ball until it started to go in. Thats when he hurts us. I wish he'd learn you don't have to force it- he can start passing until he finds his shot again. Let the game come to him not the other way around.

That Melo, poking his head after making a three, is childish and a holdover from the 'Sheed days. It should have left when he did. On the other issues, you're right, the mugging, the ISOs, all start with the coach and what he allows. Sure an ISO here and there has its' place, but this can not be the offensive plan. Better to bring back SSOL offense than what we're doing now.

If Melo is so inclined, he needs to regain his stroke by shooting foul shoots. This means driving to the hole. On occasion, when he can no longer advance the ball, he will pass to an open man as we observed during the hawks game. Defensive players will gravitate to him, either setting up a team mate for an open shot, being fouled or making a basket.
