the last time we used it was to get Felton and Camby and we are eligible to use it to buy future picks, as a trade incentive, and or both with the trade exemption and draft rights to euro players

3 players to buy low on

ALL are UFA's or RFA in Vasquez
======================================
Vasquez
Sessions
Brandon Rush *big IF on injury*

I would love to buy low on Greviez Vasquez, playing a Calderon type role as a PG/SG, lacking some speed/quickness and ability to penetrate/facilitate if the only G
But with the way we like to use 2 PG's and our lack of facilitators/creators off the dribble, I can see him working with even JR Smith *if he can regain his attacking/penetrating/facilitating role that he flourished late least season in*

Sessions has been under rated his entire career with his ability to penetrate/finish/facilitate efficiently and now can hit a wide open 3pter

He was a triple double threat on almost a nightly basis last season, if you surround him with the right players, system, and philosophy/coach
Yes another PG/SG, as we already have Iman, JR, and Tim Hardway JR, one of them would have to go and get back us fair value
Problem is, Vasquez will get paid this summer a decent amount, but not too much where we cannot add ALL STAR level or at least 2nd Tier Stars, from 5-8m is what I think we can afford
Would probably need to unload Felton/Iman, maybe a future pick, for lets say Vasquez and Jason Thompson or the PF from Houston that was traded last season to the Kings or simply an expiring with no 1st rounders

Start building on a Philosophy that has the ability to WIN TITLES and ATTRACT FA's and All Star's without OVERPAYING for every piece
================================================================================================================================================

1- with shooters that can hit shots consistently, or move the ball if shot isn't there, catch and shoot players like Redick, instead of dribble/dribble shoot players

2- 2way players, defenders, with athleticism, speed, quickness, TEAM players with ball movement/player movement THAT ATTACK AS 1 unit, and a NEW COACH with less ISO run through Melo

3- generate easy baskets with 3 players with the ability to penetrate and finish EFFICIENTLY and 2-3 players that have the ability to post up as well

4- 2 shot blocking, mobile PF/C's, with good athleticism/speed/hustle, MOBILE and SHOT BLOCKING/REBOUNDING/DEF with one being like a Noah that is a LEGIT 7footer+

5- a SF that do a bit of everything, including defending 3 positions, a SF/PF size with G skills and LOCKDOWN ability, this would be the GLUE to the 2 PF/C listed above,
ex. a young Shawn Marion and anything close or better

6- Melo could be our stretch 4 at the right price, if not move on

example

JR/ Sessions *3m MLE 4 year deal* Tourre Murry

Vasquez/ Tim Hardway JR/ JR Smith/ Brandon Rush if recovers back to old form

Paul George/ Lebron/Durant or at least Wilson Chandler/ Deng/Battum/ Harrison Barnes

Kevin Love/ Aldridge *the all star we need* or Melo on a more cap friendly deal closer to 12m per year in which he will be declining at 32ish at 2015, playing a batman role like Wade did

Noah/Hibbert/Gasol's, DPOY type C's or Bynum *gamble* at least Asik with a Tim Duncan/Dirk/KG playing a leadership/KG role in limited minutes by signing a 2-3year deal that would allow them to collect and retire early on a lower salary while offering them a HIGH PAYING management/development coaching role when they are ready to retire

Owning a NBA TEAM 101 for Dummies

Learn how to run a basketball team like Cuban and The Russian has, using their $$$ and attract the right combination of players and management to run the business

And I agree with Briggs, that Dolan needs to utilize his $$$ effectively, by hiring smart management with the Spur's type of mentality to run his business and NOT step in, that have shown success on how to win/attract players/ and that knows how to develop and play the RIGHT way
Let them do their job and STAY OUT and just trust their past success
Give Poppavich and so, the power that Riley wanted, and never got, because we might not get another shot to recover the fan base with another H20 deal
These are management that knows what they are doing and have had success longer than Ewing has been gone

look at the big picture, Dolan does not want to lose his fans to his neighbors in BKLYN and just step back and not interfere like the Russian trusting his management to do their jobs
Use his Billions of $$$ wisely and use NYC as a positive without the minions of CAA running the show for their clients

If he loses this battle with the Net's and we overpay for Anthony it will cost him 10years+ to recover as Melo's best years will be behind him after 2015 with the war of fans in NYC and the rest of the USA and World fans of BBALL
Who know's by then if Nets >>> Knicks for the next generations and generations after us.....

Dolan needs to understand if he wants to be like an organization like the Yankees or a Mets, with 2015 FA, it is still not impossible to recover this mess that he has greatly created from Isiah to now....

It might take a couple years to rebuild with FA and wise spending the cap but it is probably the fastest way with the FA's in that summer making it possible as a great stepping stone

Recruiting Poppavich and Duncan, with other players/staff is crucial, to lure players over with credentials, respect, rings, high character, and success to be the mentors, management, and leaders to our franchise, instead of the dumb ignorant/overpaying/ douche/ old and broken down players that NYK is currently associated as with NO RINGS, and spoiled rich brat behavior DOlan is associated as an owner that is a control freak with no F CLUE

no, Crush, not the 3m mini MLE.....

the 3m that you can use in trades as cash incentives or to buy picks

Like when we last used it to pay for Tony Douglas contract for Camby
and
To the rest of it to Portland to acquire Felton/Kurt Thomas for Gadzuric and filler?

The past 2 seasons, we normally use it the first couple days that we are allowed to do so each year, but this year we decided not to use it
So we can use it to buy picks for next draft or/and as trade incentives for lower market teams that aren't as blessed as Dolan financially....

lol Earl, the sad part is....

if they look in to it, and we get busted for the "under table" deal, the NBA has the power to negate JR's contract and punish our draft picks of what we have left
Just like Twolves were punished when they did under the table deal for Joe Smith to get his bird rights with vet min deals, punishing a KG in his prime to add draft picks and a solid player in Joe Smith to compliment KG's length/mobility

I don't understand why we would jeopardize that with how much we have invested in the salaries and lack of pieces we are missing...

Chris Smith, clearly is not even D league material but gets rewarded with a contract that NO ONE will ever pay him for playing basketball in his lifetime, in one year with the Knick's...

For being related JR's little bro, getting training camp invite is one thing, but guaranteeing a deal for his lack of position/skills/size is just RIDICULOUS
Put that in with JR and baby Smith's twitter from earlier in the summer and it doesn't take a genius to figure out what is going on with JR's front loaded contract

The AnswerMan appears to be approaching borderline neurotic land.

Enough with the Chris Smith already. He's not really hurting anybody. Yet.
At least wait until he's in a game and gets his "Moz posterization" moment.

Wonder how we will use the 3m that we can spend this season
