I say yes the team is playing very bad and this is alarming, but at the same time it is 6 games into the season and some around here just predicted them a championship not so long ago (and I'm not talking about Dolan, ). Somewhere in the middle lies the truth, and after letting the anger from yesterday go, I believe that patience is a good thing, for now (these are keywords, "for now"). Of course things have to improve quickly, but let's see in the next few games what will happen. Every team goes through bad/low times in every season, I prefer now that at the end of season, but I concur in the sense that it is unacceptable for the team to play like this any longer (without passion)... I'm just not ready to throw the towel yet (6 games into the season and with a 2-4 record !!!). There are talented players on this roster (with flaws like any roster except for a few elite teams), the record is not showing for it now, I believe this will improve.

This is my feel good post of the day !

Postive vibes only! There's another thread that's themed appropriately enough. I will make it my business to resurrect it!

Done.

Maybe you can post about the benefits of listening to your "not wasting tape" posts every other game?

If they had a pick I would consider it a positive but they don't. But I see what you are saying losing shows you what changes need to be made to better the team. This is starting to feel like the NY Giants season. Poor start maybe a coaching change may be the cure all for this team. Something like Pat the rat firing SVG and leading the Heat to the championship. There are no Pat Riley type coaches available to take over. And the Knicks don't have Shaq or Wade on the team. Just Melo and no one else.

You need a great young coaching mind not one that is still stuck coaching like it's the 80s and 90s who learned from bobby knight and Larry brown. Someone who understands the current NBA and knows how to push players buttons and push the right buttons offensively and defensively. Especially with the young players. You need to develop guys and not settle for empty wins

But just changing the coach isn't enough. The roster is a mess and the owner can't get out of his own way

Giants are the anti-Dolan organization. They build on trust, patience and fundamentals. Even after losing 6 games they are one win against and Aaron Rogers-less Packers team next week from playing the Cowgirls for first place two weeks from now. I actually think the Giants win the division and make a good run. Why? The players will rally. Giants fix. Knicks take sh!ts.

Do you think that happens if Woodson is fired? My guess is Herb runs things for the rest of the season. The only time the Knicks hired a good young mind was when they promoted JVG but that was pre-dolan. I don't see that happening here, just an increase in the dysfunction. The owner has already gotten rid of his qualified and effective gm for a guy that isn't qualified and is linked to the worst era in the teams history. Change isn't always for the best. There was constant change with Isiah. Not a fun time to be a fan though.

Yea we missed out in a lot of great coaches that came out of the Riley/JVG tree Thibs, doc, mark Jackson, brooks, SVG, spoeltra

Vogel is from Jersey. Right under the nose of the Knicks

I disagree... we would have ruined those guys. Stuck them with old or overpaid CAA goons who do what they want. Thats the difference between the Knicks and those other teams.

It's amazing that not one GM has been capable of presenting Dolan with a longterm plan of success after all these years.

They just give into his urgent demands to fill the seats so easily

I thought Walsh did that. He gutted the roster. Had the disgruntled star banished. Drafted a few worthy young guys. Added a few others. Cleaned up the cap. Signed a max guy, traded for another and we were able to sign Chandler and he was run out of town. Perfect? Obviously not, but he showed a plan, strategy and stuck with it and it yielded results.

I think the game has passed Donnie by. It happens

He had somewhat of a plan but he is our of touch with today's NBA talent. Hiring Dantoni over mark who he respected and Dolans constant meddling did him in IMO

Gallo is decent

Not getting Dantoni a PG was inexplicable

Trading every last asset

Trading decent players and getting nothing back

Decreasing their value before trading them

the packers are my team (die hard for 20 yrs) i wish the knicks could have an organization run as well as the PACKERS. The packers are the only team in the NFL that has a 53 man roster and only 1 player out of the 53 was not drafted by the packers. Can You believe that in this day and age.

Mean while the KNICKS have only 2 players on it's current roster that was actually drafted by them, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before there traded..

BTW Fish, we will beat the Giants this wk, had Seneca Wallace stay on the field yesterday (5/5 before he got hurt) we would have won
