Given the horrible defeat last night, a game we clearly should be winning just how important is the rematch on Friday. Sitting 1-3 after 3 home games was not the start even the most negative fan would have hoped for but worryingly the schedule gets a lot tougher after the trip to face the Bobcats. It looks like a must win for me or the wheels could really come off before the season gets properly underway.

Our early form must make us big underdogs at the Garden on Sunday against the once again consistently excellent Spurs then we face a double header against the Hawks with a very tough match against Western Conference leading Rockets sandwiched in-between. After that its a trip to Detroit before a return to MSG to face the Pacers who are looking better still than last season and we all know how that ended.

I suppose what I'm saying is that we really need a win on Friday however its achieved as there is no guarantee of a win anywhere in the 6 games to follow. We legitimately could go something like 2-9 or 3-8 if we continue to play as we have started. Are there games out of those I've listed people are confident about ?

Nobody bit when I originally posted this but given we are now 3-6 with the aforementioned trip to Detroit and then the home game against the Pacers (seeing us likely go 1-6 at home) what are people's thoughts ? We seem to be heading for if not already in a crisis. Following those two we have a 4 game road trip 3 of which are on the West coast. Sorry to say but unless a positive momentum shift is found from somewhere whether it he the firing of Woodson or a trade then this is going to get worse before it gets better.

Actually, for the long term betterment of the Knicks, I'd say our Tueday game against Detroit is a Must-Lose Game.

Interesting you think that will be the pivotal defeat to signal change ? Given Pacers will probably walk all over us then I think you might be right. If we do nothing I'm going to predict a 5-10 start.

Well mate it happened, what now?

I'd like to revise my prediction to 4-11 as well and given the way we are playing individually and collectively even that might be a push.

If you read all the threads, I think the naked reality of the current Knicks is there for all to see. There may have been a little optimism before (like it's "still early"). Not really anymore. I think we all see (including the actual decision makers in the organization) -- small modifications will not be enough. No more throwing money at the problem. No trying to win now, or at least next year. Get a young, tough, ambitious coach. Be smarter than other teams and come out ahead in trades (not easy but doable). Melo is a great scorer, but he represents the current Knicks and he needs to be traded for the future.

The above is all I have. It's not Rocket science as many of you know much better than I. However, that type of change is hard, and it takes courage.

You are 100% correct but the Knicks will trade Shumpert for a bandaid in hopes of making th playoffs only to get bounced early again

The right thing to do would be to blow it up trade Melo and Tyson and stock like talent and picks but Dolan will never allow for a true rebuild

I feel like we'll never win again. It's not just the losses, but they way we've played in them- awful individual performances, and an even worse team performance IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE GAME!
