This platoon system they have going needs to be scrapped ASAP. This is basketball and when a player gets run he gets into basketball shape. I was watching Cleveland and Bynum has just as shotty knees as Amare yet he finds 20 minutes in a game. Amare needs to play regular minutes if he goes down he goes down I'm not worried about a guy that basically racked up 160 Million in his basketball career. Play the damn game!

I totally agree....if he can't play he should sit in a suit with Chris Smith....
If he's dressed he needs to player every game he physically can not according to some scheme to get him to the playoffs.....this is a chemistry killer. Amare is not that good at the game of basketball to do this....the dude can't do anything unless he has the ball. He has no feel for what he should do without the ball.....he is hurting the team

Its time for Amare to retire or just be sent home to enjoy life, his basketball days are behind him. A healthy Amare was bad on D. An injury plagued Amare has to be the worst defender I have ever seen. I have not even mentioned his absured amount of turnovers. His best act as a Knick could be to retire so we can get some cap relief. We will always have the memories of that half a season that he was a superstar.

I want to see Amare with consistent mins, not this 10 mins every other game crap. NO player will play well in that scenario. 20 to 25 mins or more otherwise he will never get any rhythm. I'm a Amare fan and I want to see him get a real chance to play before I start to see/believe that he is washed up. Let Amare and Kenyon play ball and let things work out whatever way their going to work out!!

Are u serious you need to see more to determine if he is washed up? He physically cant play more than 15 minutes isnt that enough. What the Knicks are doing is ridiculous. He looks like an 80 year old man on Defense

i agree - playing amar'e this way isn't going to get him physically ready. play him every night and if he gets hurt, he gets hurt. can't walk around on eggshells with this guys health anymore.

Hate to be insensitive, but this is professional sports. The smart thing to do would be to run Amare out there until the wheels falls off. If they fall off, everyone in the building knew it already. The doctors, the team, fans, even Amare himself I'm sure.
If he gives us anymore than reinjury, can't be worse than the living corpse named Andrea Bargnani.

Just ask Amare's wife , should he hang it up and see what she says. Women have a way of being truthfully honest about their spouses.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Totally agree - he is getting paid an absolute ****load but for what ??? Just play him and see what happens. It can't be any worse than what he is contributing now anyway ! If he gets hurt then so be it but its more painful for us the fans to watch this sorry spectacle now than it would be if he just was given proper minutes to see what happened.

Agreed, with the caveat that if Amar'e doesn't feel right after too many minutes, he needs to speak up. But this team is already suffering from chemistry issues, and changing the lineup on a day-to-day basis is only compounding the problem.

The whole thing with STAT is building him back up to a functional level again---and that takes time. We'll probably never see the high wire stuff anymore and that's OK -- the 14-15 ppg at 58% FGs that we saw last year before he went down would be great. Get STAT back to the point where he's scoring a few buckets in a row, feeling good, showing much better quickness/decisiveness/assertiveness and helping the team again...Hopefully we get him to the point where he starts showing everyone the 'spoon feed me the ball' gesture once again. You guys remember that? Where was that -- in Cleveland, Phily maybe?? Tell me that didn't get everyone pumped! We sure could use that version of Amar'e again! I'll take it. I think he can get back there...Hey man, did Antonio McDyess eventually recover from his knee problem to have several very productive years for Detroit after the Knicks? Yes he did...I mean we thought the guy was cooked here -- Antonio McKnee, right? Turns out he wasn't cooked....At this point STAT's still a better player than the stripped down version of McDyess Detroit had -- last year's production before the injury is the indicator...Don't throw the towel in on STAT yet.

I'm sure once Amare leaves the Knicks his knees will have found the fountain of youth.
