Ok, I'm not a fan of Melo ball, but I've tried to steer clear of bashing him. But now I'm done:

“For myself, maybe I’m second-guessing myself,” Anthony conceded after practice Monday in Greenburgh. “Maybe I’m a little bit passive out there, trying to do things that (are) out of the norm and trying to make people better at the wrong times.
“That’s where I’m second-guessing myself and I’m second-guessing my shot — and ‘should I take this or should I pass this?’ I’ve got to get out of that mentality quick.”

Yeah, Melo, get that modicum of conscience out of your head before it just might take root!
I was at the game on Sunday, and let me tell you, passing was not Melo's problem. He just plain stunk through 3 quarters. Seriously, if you're gonna blame passing for your miserable performance just GTFOOH with that. You selfish little bastard.
And for those counting, all that claimed selflessness accounted for a grand total of 3, count 'em, 3 assists. Sucker. I'm done with this guy.

Larry Brown/Iverson Sixers. Surround Melo with guys like snow mutombo Mckie who will rebound defend move the ball and block shots & stear clear. Let Melo do his thing.

Problem is the East is a lot tougher then it was then

He's just saying this because he's embarrassed by his poor shooting numbers.

All too predictable, simplistic reaction to the "Please no Melo mentions" threads.

Play ball, win tonight!

It's a fair one

It's one thing to hijack threads by talking about Melo

It's another to voice your opinion/distaste with a current issue directly related to the teams play

Well it depends what Passive mean doesn't it? Passive as in getting more shots or passive in not driving.

I think we need just one more scorer. Everyone else on the court needs to fit that mold. Need to be a defender and/or shooter type.

Exacte.
As you watch Sunday's game, you just wonder why he wasn't driving the ball. The shot is not falling, ok, that's not your only move! Get to the hole, dammit!

Yea forgot Larry Hughes

By the way I'm being sarcastic. I would never want to watch that kind of team but that is the kind of team that will make Melo happy

Melo can't handle too much thrown at him at once. He is very simplistic. Passing and doing other little things go beyond his abilities

K.I.S.S - keep it simple stupid

To Melo......."There is a season, turn-turn-turn....."

.....A time to shoot, a time to pass, a time to pick, a time to roll...

That's where JR comes in...Can't wait for his suspension to be over. We need him. Let Melo & JR continue to be the 2 primary offensive options. Hopefully Bargs can get to the level where he's the #3 guy along with Shumpert maybe. The pieces are here for success -- hopefully JR coming back really stabilizes things, Woody gets more comfortable with what he has and everyone slides right into their roles...I also think it would be beneficial to re-establish Amar'e as a part of this team. If STAT plays well tonight -- forget this flip-flopping BS with K-Mart...Nothing crazy, but start to lean on Amar'e more and more -- 20-25 mins consistently. That's about half a game...See if he can handle that. I think he can -- that's still a big drop from his heyday in mins per, even based on only a couple of years ago. There's a way to do this -- Amar'e at 20-25 mins a night (even more if he's got it rolling) is still looking out for him I feel. I don't think that's abusing him. He wants back in and says he feels good...Dust him off and start building him back up to that number. If he breaks down again or can't handle it, then we deal with it -- maybe then start to contemplate an early medical retirement. Otherwise, I want the guy playing. Definitely don't want him NOT playing for days on end or it coming out before a game that he's not playing for no legit reason...He's still a weapon for us. Wanna show up to every gun fight with all our bullets...

THIS IS WHY MELO IS NOT A SUPER STAR. If you are having these problems as an NBA player, then you're not ready for a Batman role....You are clearly Robin who plays better under a lead dog. Why you think Melo broke the 3pt stat and shooting percentage on the Olympic team? Because thats the role that fits his skill set. You guys don't want to hear this, but he would play better if he was in Bosh shoes, surrounded by Lebron and Wade. Sure anybody would play better, but Melo would probably break all kind of percentage and stat numbers.

When he has to be that lead superstar player, his game is reduced drastically, because it only highlights his flaws. Which is simple, he doesn't impact the game of basketball, if his shot isn't falling. And thats terrible for an NBA star. I've played with guys like this all the time....when they are not hitting, they are usless.....When they are on, they can win games for you. Thats not NY basetball.....We need our superstars to not be one trick ponys. And Melo only has one trick, and thats not changing anytime soon. Melo needs to pay cut, so we can get a real superstar with does more than just score buckets.

Well he could be agreeing with you if that what he means by passive. Now most people will think he was talking about shooting but he was doing that so... We will see.

What Melo should do is go to Pablo and say shoot when you are open, rather that is a drive or behind the arch. He should go to Chandler and say I need for you to expect a pass and catch them. They also need to go to him and say keep passing because despite his assist numbers he was swinging and passing the ball.

+100 especially the Tyson part. Some of the players have actually given him potentially good looks but he either doesn't see it coming or just cant catch it.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Worst shooting 20 point scorer in basketball today. Playing basketball encompasses everything from passing to shooting and playing defense. There is no thinking about it you see an open player you pass it. If your open you shoot it. If your doubled you don't shoot you pass. If you see a open lane you drive to the basket with the intent of scoring or passing.

This is exactly the same BS he did with MDA.

melo has shown he is challenged when he has to express himself. in this instance he isn't being passive-- he is confused and over-thinking because his BBIQ is so dreadfully low. a big issue is he does not recognize the difference between a good shot and a potentially better shot for another. this has been his problem since he has been a knick, maybe his entire career.

he may be coming to terms with his inability to broaden his game, which is good news because he needs to take a paycut if he is finally realizing his substantial limitations.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

This is what happens when u leave college early. His BBIQ never matured. 2 more yrs of college basketball wouldve did wonders for him. Or maybe he's just one of those low iq players with a low ceiling as a complete player. Just because you score more than anybody else doesn't make u a complete player. That's what's wrong with this young basketball generation. And that's the opposite of what I saw from lebron james at a young age. He was bigger than everybody but had a pg mentality that made everybody want to play with him at an early age. Melo has always been a gunner and never developed into anything else except to be an even better gunner.
