Let's Get It On

The offseason sucks. I'm so glad it's over. The season will be long. It will fluctuate. It will tax you. It will elate you. There will be moments at which you feel like the Knicks can win the championship. There will be moments at which you feel like they're doomed. When it ends, there will be leaves on the trees, pollen in the air, and only a slim chance you'll feel satisfied. But between now and then, no matter what else happens, there will be basketball, which is so much better than no basketball. That's why we're here. Knicks basketball is fun. Watching the Knicks is fun and it is fun to do it together.

- Seth Rosenthal

Pablo Prigioni will manage the court, rack up steals and give the best post game interviews.
Beno Udrih will be a starter by January. Long live the (BBC) big backcourt.
I Man Shumpert will have his best season ever. Defensively, he will set the tempo.

Raymond Felton is too short to be a shooting guard, but he is what he is. The good news is that he never gives less than his best effort.
Tyson Chandler owes himself some redemption for being abused by Roy Hibbert. He will play grumpy.
Tim Hardaway Junior complements the best set of guards we have had in recent memory. That depth will come in handy.

Did I mention that Toure Murry can play?

Amare Stoudemire will shut it down in December and retire on New Years Day.
Kenyon Martin will pace himself and explode down the stretch like Secretariat.
Jeremy Tyler will rehab and recover. He drops his first double double in early March.

We also have the leading scorer in the league, warts and all. Cool.

Ron World Peace will ensure that it is never dull.

Amazingly astute summary. Pretty much sums it up.

Fun hoops FTW!

I'd rather he retire today, so his $$ can come off the cap sooner. And I love Amare.

Thank you for the kind words Moonangie.

One reason why I Man Shumpert will have his best season ever.

“For the first time since I can remember playing basketball, I let so much stuff in the outside world, things that are going on in my life, affect me so much,” he says. “I wasn’t playing that game to win. I was trying to beat my problems.

“...I think the perfect way to punish myself is to take my hair, just to end that whole separation of trying to be cool or trying to separate myself so that I look different....

My one goal is to get my ring. That’s to play hard and to play to win and to play amongst my teammates, play within my team, within my coaches, within my organization, within the city that I play in. Never, ever ever put myself outside the circle ever again.”
- I Man Shumpert

Inside the circle indeed.

Let's get it on.

An instant AnswerMan classic. Can I get a sticky witness up in here? (Sticky, as in sticky the thread, you cretans)

A few missing in action mentions:
Rumbling in the background is everyone's favorite problem child/redemption song waiting to happen, JR Smiff! Do you remember the play at the Alamo, where everyone tried to hide their face after that sick, physically illegal dunk? I remember the Alamo.
Cole Aldrich, Mr. Tyson's neck and Sir Kmart's ankle will be paging you soon. Please be prepared. And angry. Fouls and blocks and dunks please.

1 and Oh. So it begins...
