Timberwolves waive F Robbie Hummel, G A.J. Price and F Chris Johnson.
Hummel played well but couldn't stick, while Johnson actually had a guaranteed salary. Letting him go and eating the money will allow the Wolves the flexibility of having two roster spots available.

Twolves, cut 3 players that I think deserves a roster spot over Charity Smith
Lorenzo Brown was also cut earlier, some here wanted to draft him if we could get a 2nd round pick

I really like Chris Johnson as a PF/C, he is extremely athletic, good shot blocker, rebounder/defender, and can play at PF or C, something we really don't have besides a older Kmart

Robie Hummel is a nice stretch forward, much more skilled Steve Novak but is about 6-9, 220

AJ Price is a solid PG that could penetrate and facilitate

Kadji was waived and the rumor is that the Wizards will waive Kendall Marshall. Also, Fab Melo was waived. I believe this would be Fab's senior year if he didn't get funky with his test scores.

Royce White was waived by the Sixers. The guy has a lot of issues but also is extremely talented if right. Hoping Houston offers him a bayhawks spot.

Talented is right, but this is a case of WAY too many red flags. I just don't see him ever finding a way to mesh with the NBA lifestyle. Not worth the headache, and not sure I could even root for the guy after the crap he pulled last year.

Clips waived Lou Amundson. I don't remember him post Charlotte, but could be a guy to consider as an end of the bench big.

Ive always been a fan of aj price but now we have 100 guards.

Id pick up jordan henriquez...we need bigs

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

No. I might be wrong about Johnson but I am very aware of Armstrong.

Is Chris Smith available? I hear he is superb and has great genes.

Royce Whites anxiety isn't the issue, its his lousy attitude- got out of the Rockets organisation (which he'd been pushing for) then didn't even bother turning up in shape for his new chance.

Players I wouldn't mind seeing us acquire somehow -- guys we could stash away at Erie and develop. I'd target bigs that can score inside and maybe a PG or two:

Marcus Cousin - Spurs had him and cut him the same day they cut Maggette. He's a solid, able big man we could get cheap & stash away in Erie for the time being. He's near 7' tall and he's very underrated offensively. Solid rebounder that plays hard..He'd compliment our existing frontcourt very well if one of our bigs ever went down...I think we could use another big or 2 that has the ability to score the ball on the interior. We're capped out and not in the position to acquire a more household name -- we really should be considering some cheaper alternatives.

BJ Young - Rockets had him and cut him back at the beginning of the month. Now he just signed on to play for their DL affiliate today I believe. 6'3" SG that has the tools to make the transition to the point eventually. Dude needs work in all areas but he's got potential. Lightning quick to the rim, he can shoot, score. Just to touch on Daryl Morey -- to me this guy's one of the top GMs in the league, if not the best. He's in on all the major acquisitions (Harden, Howard, overpaid but stole Linsanity away from the Knicks, etc.) and then he quietly stockpiles the best young talent he can get his hands on -- through the draft, undrafted players, DL players, Euros, etc. (watch Robert Covington, another very good undrafted rookie that has a chance to be a very good player--I think he just made the Rockets final 15-man roster). Morey has one of the better eyes for young talent I've see from any exec. out there -- he shows it year after year. Also shows a willingness to go out and sign these types of players to see if he was right all along (more often than not, he is). To me, if we could ever get this guy to run our team, it's a no brainer. I'd pay this guy whatever he wanted to be my GM and I'd give him full autonomy (Dolan should be keeping an eye on when this guy's contract is up). The way he's built this Rocket team is exactly how it should be done imho...Textbook...If you're a Rockets fan, how could you not be satisfied with the roster Morey's put together? Wow..

Seth Curry - I'd take a chance. The kid's not his brother but he's an excellent shooter in his own right. Could be lead guard material one day--does a lot of things well. I like his floor game a lot. Grab him now before GS gets him back to play for their DL affiliate (Santa Cruz). Santa Cruz supposedly has Jeremy Tyler's right now -- if anything, even if we don't really like Seth Curry, grab him now and use him to swap for Tyler's rights maybe. I'd keep him though and develop him as a PG.

Pierre Jackson - Thought he was on New Orleans but I see that he signed on to go play in France. Keep an eye on this guy. Beno and Pablo aren't gonna be around forever...Neither will Felton. We're gonna need to come up with solid PGs soon somehow.

Jeremy Pargo - I think this guy is everything you could possibly want in a young PG. Great handle, strong, good passer, very athletic (this guy gets to the rim at will and can throw monster dunks down on people -- and he's got the strength & hops to do it!), and he's a decent shooter. Can't for the life of me figure out why he can't stick in the NBA. He's light years a better player than his brother Jannero. The Knicks were interested in Bobby Brown at one point this off-season -- Jeremy Pargo's younger, stronger, more athletic and the better talent imo.

DeQuan Jones - 6'8" wing was just waived by Sacramento. Suberb athlete with excellent potential.

Derrick Byars - a capable fill-in in case anything ever happened to one of our wings.

----------------------------

Anyone even know who's on the Bayhawks' roster? Can't even check -- their website's down. Terrance Jennings I think, right? Who else are we working with down there?

I'd already begin thinking about next year, what we'd be able to add being over the cap.

Just focusing on the backcourt for now - we could use more speed/athleticism. That's no secret...The mix I'd like to bring in for next year -- Jeremy Pargo, Seth Curry and DeQuan Jones. These 3 could all be potential replacements for Beno Udrih, Chris Smith, Toure Murry and/or Metta World Peace.

Cut Chris Smith anytime now -- we just handed this guy over 400k guaranteed this year, on top of what he made last year and this year in SL and training camp. That's more than enough of a favor for JR and the Smith family. You're welcome, guys. I don't wanna hear anything else about owing the Smith family anything -- JR owes us now!! Once Smith is waived -- immediately add Seth Curry (grab him now before someone else does) and assign him to the D-League full-time. Begin developing him as a full-time PG with the idea that he can be built up to a passable part-time PG for next year to go along with his lethal shooting. Developing Seth Curry into a potential PG is what the D-League's all about imo. Just thinking ahead -- if Woody's around next year, we already know he likes to go with 2 PGs on the floor at the same time in spurts -- at the very least, Curry would be excellent in that scenario with his shooting as the one playing off the ball. I think he could be more than that though. Grab him right now and start the development process.

I like Pargo as a PG with great athleticism -- a guy that can blow by his man and get to the rim at will. Once Melo opts out and is resigned, we'll be over $90mm next year in team salary. I don't even think we have any draft picks to use next summer -- if we want to upgrade the talent level, unfortunately these are the guys we need to be looking at. That's not to say Pargo can't play -- I think he could be an excellent backup PG behind Felton for next season (in a way, he reminds me of a more explosive version of Ray Felton). I'd reach out to Pargo's agent right now and convey my interest -- tell him he's in our thoughts for the rest of this year in case of emergency and definitely for next year as a guy that will be brought in with a very good chance to make the team.

DeQuan Jones is a phenomenal athlete with excellent potential on both sides of the ball. Big (6'8"), strong and skilled. I think he'd be an excellent understudy wing behind JR Smith/Shumpert/THJ at the 2 and Melo at the 3 (I can picture Metta World Peace retiring after the season). Not sure what the ceiling could be for this guy -- Corey Maggette in his prime maybe??

DeQuan Jones:

Disagree on Curry, Ned. True, he's no burner out there (think about it though -- is his brother Steph? How 'bout Steph's coach Mark Jackson? He wasn't exactly what I'd call speedy with the ball or athletic either...Jeremy Pargo is where I think we could add some speed and athleticism at the point on the cheap; Curry brings different things to the table. A different player that could compliment a Ray Felton and/or a Jeremy Pargo quite well I feel) but he's a tremendous outside shooter. Probably one of the best pure shooters to come out of the last draft class, if not the best in fact. Love that aspect of his game -- it's what makes me believe he could be NBA material, provided some team out there can get him to the point where he's at least functional and comfortable at the point. Just bring the ball up and initiate the offense...Curry intrigues me. I feel it makes a lot more sense investing time in Curry and trying to develop his PG skills rather than just signing up somebody like Walker Russell, J'Covan brown or Wink Adams on the Bayhawks, a guy that has no shot at the NBA...If Seth Curry turns out to be nothing more than Jaycee Carroll or Anthony Roberson, hey, we tried. Can this guy be anything close to his brother eventually? That's the question...That's the appeal and what makes him intriguing...I'd like to see us invest the time in him to find out.
