There is already athread about this whole thing but what I want all us Knick fans to do is take a look at the picture.

Collins doesn't look like he went for the ball.

Vin Baker was right there.

Tim Thomas has every right to say what he said.....

I'm asking the moderators to sticky this thread....you can lock it up too if you want. I just want everyone not to forget what the Nets did to the us,....not just the Knicks but to us....

And don't forget what the Knicks did after the play....which was nothing.

i dont know if you are old enough to remember[although it wasnt long ago]but charles oakley has fouled like this 100 times. the knicks were thought of as thugs --as nice as greg anthony appears as a tv announcer--the guy was as tough a dude as they come along with guys like mason starks etc.. these guys are all guilty of multiple hammering fouls fights headbuts et al. I NEVER EVER remember the knicks opening their mouths --sometimes you would hear the opponents call us thugs but the games were played. Tim Thomas got fouled hard--he got fouled in an akward position someone shouldve atleast came over and did some pushing--but they didnt and its over.

This is a nothing play that has been excerbated by the knicks futility. Go out and win the game--thats an appropriate answer--have tim thomas play 10 minutes hurt to show his toughness--but these guys need to STFU and play. It's like getting beat up and calling out the other guy to pound on your head again.

You are right the knicks have died but that was 5 years ago--time to scrap everything and rebuild around a plan to bring in elite athletiscm and big post players who are all around the same age and can grow together with vets sprinkled in.

the day Knick basketball died was the day Layden traded Ewing for what essentially became Shandon & Eisely

in stead of just letting ewing's contract run out and retiring.

Knicks basketball began a slow death the day Ewing broke his wrist. This stuff we've been watching for the last few years is not Knicks basketball.

BRIGGS, you are wrong all over the place. How many times are you gonna bring up rebulding and the next "superstar" our the mid 1st round? Will you ever make a new post?

All we need is a Net head on a pike. I don't care if ge get sweapt, if before the end of the 4th game somebody gets carried out on strechers and does not return for at least the playoffs. They messed us up, now its our duty to mess them up even worse if possible. Negate all there chacnes of winnin the title, do what we did to Kenny Anderson back in the day, maim somebody for good. Teach these punks from the swump a hard lesson, don't mess with NY. Fu**ing Martin needs to be put into a hospital for all his antics. He makes a jumper and he acts like he won the title. Somebody needs tot ake his head of.
Kidd is a wifebeater with a bad attitude who messed with FW for no reason, hammer him next time he goes up for layup, make him bleed. Fu**cing kill the Nets.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Thanks for the Sticky Martin.

Briggs you ain't saying nothing that we already know.

I feel it's deeper than just a game right now. The Knicks have lost the respect of the city like you said....about five years ago.

The Nets are coming to Brooklyn!!!! How big is this that the Nets can totally disrespect the Knicks and totally whip them on and off the court.....and they will be sharing the same city in a few years. The Knicks are slowly getting phased out....if they haven't been already.

Teams have great seasons and then they fall off....all teams go through it. But no team loses the respect of a city as much as the Knicks did after one game.....one play.

Yeah the Knicks need alot....but it's 5 on 5 right now....Knicks have a 12 man roster, so do the Nets. Where is the pride? The Knicks could get swept, fine. They could get swept as long as they show the Nets they will not stand for the bullpoopy and play hard.

Pride....
All men have it....Derek Harper took on Jo Jo English in the middle of a Bulls series knowing he was gonna get suspended. Harper was like the third option on that team....Knicks could have easily lost that series after that....

Sometimes winning doesn't matter and as a Man, the Knicks have to do what they have to do.

like i said charles oakley has thrown 100 of these fouls. these fouls happen all the time on every level of basketball and i dont think for one second that jarron collins was trying to intentionally hurt TT at all. if you want to see a foul that truly merits revenge, take a look at todd bertuzzi's hit a few months ago--that was evil and should be prosecuted by law. that was intentional and he easily couldve killed that guy. what happened to TT is a love tap compared to that-some of these responces sound very immature.

lovetap? do you realize how vulnerable someone is when they're in the air, especially with all the stuff on the baseline (cameras, people, etc.)?

that was a bad foul b/c he clearly grabbed tim on the way down. look at collins' hand.

and then the foul that rj put on marbury on the layup attempt. it was full body on body - rj came flying in from the other side of the rim and hit body to body.

the knicks in the mid 90's were thugs and some fouls were just too hard - like the starks clothesline on pippen and so forth. we all cheered them b/c we were the ones doing it and the nba let us get away with it - but in this day and age where the refs call flagrants with the quickness, collins should've been hit with a flagrant-2 and rj should've been hit with a flagrant-1. (not to mention the kmart swipe on deke)

they're showing that they're nothing more than punks.

as for vin baker, vin is here b/c he's all about self. he never passes and he doesn't care. he's just trying to get another contract.

I'm with Briggs. We dished out these fouls for 10 years. Every year (even though they always won the series) Phil Jackson would blubber after every lose to us in the post game about how the Knicks were ruining the game, how we played football, how we were dirty. Sorry, but Oakley, Mason, Bonner, XMan, Anthony... I'm sure I'm missing some.. these guys did this stuff every night.

Its just an indication of how NOT physical we are. Rebuilding is a wasted discussion here, because Briggs has cotton in his ears when it comes to that.

i agree, we got away with so much it wasn't even funny. and phil was blubbering (rightly so even if we don't want to admit it).

but today, there's absolutely NONE of that and fouls are called for nothing. and the thomas foul was pretty excessive considering collins pulled him down while he was in the air. and when kmart took a full swipe at dikembe, HARD, after all the talk and after the collins foul, that should've been a tech as well. there should be a little consistency.

anyway, for all i care, they could let everything go and call nothing, allowing us to retaliate, but alas, like both of you have said, we don't have that demeanor anymore.

enyspree: I am with you man, where is the pride, where is the love for your teamate, I mean it is too late now to retaliate, this should have been done!! Now I dissagree briggs, oakley never made these types of fouls on a regular basis, just stop that please, those old knicks gave good hard fouls, but this foul was a joke, a guy goes airborn you challenge the shot, you don't grab him, you don't go for his body or legs, that is Bull!!! Collins is a big, doofy, herman Munster look alike, and is a cheap shot artist, he knew what he was doing.... I too would be dissapointed if I were TT.. Look the knicks are probably not good enough to beat the nets, and the nets are going out of their way to humiliate us on the court, the chest pounding, the assanine dancing and prancing, the friggin throwing the ball off the glass for dunks, I mean come on man!!!!!! Damn!!! If you are letting that happen and you can't stop that, well that is fine, but don't let them physically abuse you too... that is something you can do something about!!! and we didn't!!

for once, i agree with you, briggs. i remembered in the 92 playoffs when we played the bulls, scottie was complaining about getting beat up by xavier mcdaniel. i never forgot what the x-man said. he said " scottie needs to shut the f@#$k up and play!" you can't complain to the media. all this gibberish to the media is dumb especially dealing with the playoff. how should they responded? kept their mouth shut, play harder and implemented the no layup rule. pound them back but shut your mouth. we used to beat teams up literally. did the pacers complain? how about the rockets? or even the then chartlotte hornets? no. they knew what playoff basketball and the knicks were all about.

the best answer to the nets is to go out and play hard and win. if during the game we hit someone a little harder than we should, so be it. but the bottom line is we are getting manhandled and now we are the team that is crying. isnt it clear to see? this team is rag tag soft and put together so poorly and it is shows. we have already done more trading the past few years than teams have done in DECADES! it's enough! it hasnt worked--this team needs a fresh start with a solid plan. i dont uinderstand how some of you guys dont get it. i never wanted KVH I dont want Tt Nazr Penny this teamn scks and there are way to many older parts with to many mediocre players. this team has very little future and this azz-whoopin should open people's eyes.

but you're talking about the layden era. isiah IS the fresh start and he's starting to rebuild and remold this team. he already brought in a young pg who has at least 7 years left. it takes time to rebuild so let's give isiah some time.

tearing down and getting rid of salary and rebuild through the draft is another way to do it, but it's much higher a risk. what team has been able to completely blow it up and restock to a championship contender using this method? not too many that i can think of. i understand what you're saying but you should also see and hope isiah knows what he's doing. he was under donnie walsh for a couple of years and has proven he's been able to draft as well. he has a vision so let's see it out.
