I had 30 minutes to play with today and started playing the "what if" game. I went back to the 2010 offseason and started building a team the way I thought it should've happened. Ended up with this team and was wondering how it would have performed last season.

You agree with the rotation? I kinda struggled between starting Gallo or bringing him off the bench. With Irving, George and Monroe being 15ppg+ scorers, I feel that his game might be better served as a 6th man. That starting lineup would need better rebounding, so Faried might be the better option at the 4 spot. Problem is that I think Bargnani and Gallo are a bit redundant and I wanted some diversity in both units.

LOL, no. I just used actual trades that happened and adjusted it to involve us (e.g. using our cap space to acquire Baron Davis and a 1st round pick [that inevitably became Kyrie Irving] from the Clippers). In other examples, I just centered the "trades" around popular rumors from that offseason (e.g. the Clippers wanting to trade down in the draft to maximize their cap space). A lot of the players listed here are/have been former Knicks, so I don't think the general premise for this is that far fetch'd. Just to give an idea of how I got the starting lineup:

STARTERS
K.Irving: refer to comment above
Landry Fields: 39th pick of the 2010 draft
Paul George: I would've drafted him 8th in the 2010 draft (11th in the actual draft). The Clippers originally owned the pick and reportedly wanted to trade down to maximize as much cap space as possible for the offseason. The pick would've hypothetically been acquired by trading the 11th pick (acquired by obtaining Mo Peterson for cap space) and the 23rd pick (acquired by obtaining Mike Bibby in a 3 way trade with the Bulls and Hawks).
Danilo Gallinari: duh
Greg Monroe: I would've drafted him 6th in the 2010 draft. Pick would've been acquired by moving David Lee (sign and trade) and Wilson Chandler to Golden State for the 6th pick and Ronny Turiaf. Eddy Curry, Anthony Randolph, Toney Douglas and $3 million would also have been sent to Minnesota for cap space (and Ramon Sessions).

Got him in a trade with Portland for the 20th pick.
