add to the list if you like.

1. Keep the attention on the court with roster.
2. One season at at time.
3. Walsh did not trade for Melo, Grunny didn't sign Tyson, Knicks traded, Knicks signed tyson.........
4. Isiah is gone. move on.
5. Dolan is the owner, he's an idot, he's not going anywhere!
6. Don't worry about preseaon rankings, its the postseason that counts.
7. Don't fall in love with the coach.
8. Don't watch the draft thinking something for the knicks good will happen.
9. Off season rosters "grades" are subjective.
10. Phil Jax will soon be too old to matter.
11. Lower expectations and enjoy any success.
12. Rickey Rubio will be a free agent in 5 years!!!

Good list! How about...
-Argue that 28 other teams also fail each year
-Compare the present team to the Isiah and Layden teams
-Point out how bad other future hall-of-famers are

dont get me started on rubio..SO overated!
lol

but good list tho

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

basketball like all sports is merely entertainment so even if you know you have no chance of winning titles at least you have been entertained. this takes care of any antipathy one would have towards dolan since this is clearly his values.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Sigghhhh....

A lot of people ask me why I don't change my allegiance, because unlike many people I don't jump on bandwagons. Right now, the one in Brooklyn is getting packed. It's simple. I've put in over 20 years of my life rooting for this team. In that time, I've gained immense knowledge of it's players, it's history. If I wanted to go and be a Heat fan, I could, since I have roots in Florida, and nobody in my circle would judge me for that, they'd get it. But I don't want to start all over. I don't have that connection. I would feel like a sellout everytime I would go on a Heat board and talk about how great Lebron is, or gloat over a Heat win.

When you invest so much time and energy on one thing, you don't need a checklist to like it. You either do or you don't, and you live with the lows and enjoy the highs. When that ultimate high does come someday, it will be more euphoric than any enjoyment one can get by abandoning their team to root for somebody else.

Sure you can get angry about something stupid they did, but then MOVE THE FUCK ON. I just don't understand these hate/love relationships people have with something they invest so much time, energy and money on.

My interpretation was that Nalod was making fun of people who do all of the above - he wasn't instructing us to complete this checklist.

If we must reaffirm our vows and state why we are with the team then I'll state mine as it being involuntary and as much as I would like, cannot change my affiliation. It stems from my childhood and all the books and articles I read about the 1970-1974 roster that produced 2 championships.

That is the root of my "fandom". Clyde was my childhood "Hero". He was the cool. Earl was the music, Willis was the strength, Bradley was the intelligence, and Debusschere was the worth ethic.

The 2 ABA championships won by the Nets and witnessed by Nalod is not the same. The 35 years being lost in Jersey also did not help. Dr. J was incredible but that was short lived.

Yes, its sad to have to teach ones self to dismiss the owner and his antics. The dude wants to win and like all businessman succeeds on the bottom line as well.

This thread is like a support group for the brotherhood of fans to help each other thru the headlines and maintain hope.

Knick history is also littered with controversy, disappointment and symptomatic Starphuchedness.

+1 We hold this truth to be a simple, inalienable truth.

- Work on your reading comprehension. Seriously.
- Figure out if there's anything at all you could even vaguely like about Melo. Ponder on that small sample size. Breathe deep towards your inner core.
- Embrace your inner blue and orange face painter. Try to actually enjoy the games! Especially the ones we win!
- Stop wondering what other fans are doing in far off, smaller market, gentler lands.
- Endeavor to give up your all-consuming need to be the GM you are never actually going to be.
- Be happy you're smarter than Dolan. Be happy he's rich, and not a drain on society.
