Anger doesn't win games. It's what losers resort to when they haven't the talent or experience to win. The only way the Knicks win a single game in this series is if the Nets have an off night. The Knicks don't have the ability to beat these guys, not with their injuries and weak roster. Even at full strength, the Knicks are not a very good team. But, Dolan gets his wish, and he'll sell some expensive playoff tickets to NY'ers who should know better.
- Nazr is a better center than Doleac, but he's not as good as Collins. Nets keep trying to replace Collins year after year, but he's always the one starting come playoff time. Maybe they should just give him the job already. Anyway, Nazr's fair, nothing special. - KT is like a skinny Malik Rose. Solid bench player, but nothing special. - TT is decent, but doesn't control games. And now he's hurt. Doesn't seem to gel with teammates, which is why he is traded a lot. - Allan Houston. The fact that people are missing him shows how low this team has fallen. Houston is a *****-cat. Great jump shooter, but has only taken over a handful of meaningful games in his career. A guy who makes his salary should be trying to take over EVERY game, and succeeding at it. Can't play defense, either. - Marbury. Talented, great one-on-one player, but, alas, basketball is only a one-on-one game on the blacktop. Great PG's are floor generals and should only be shooting off rebounds or when the clock winds down. Like Steve Francis, a SG pretending to be a PG, Marbury needs to learn how to run the team - that's what Wilkens and Isiah expect from him. Whenever teams trade Marbury, they aren't all that sorry to see him go. That should tell you something.
Knicks' bench - aside from Sweetney, who is to like? Deke's ancient and slow, Penny and Vinnie will never again be the players they once were, Shandon should pay back some of his salary to the fans, Frank's a cry-baby head case, and Dermarr and Moochie are third-stringers. I won't even bring the other guy into this. He doesn't play, so he doesn't get his name mentioned.
This team is better than last year's ... by two games. I'm glad Dolan got his wish so he could see his playoff team humiliated on national TV. I wonder if we could fly Sprewell over just to taunt Dolan some more after the Knicks are put out of their misery.
Well, I think that's it for me. Until next year. Andrew, martin - you guys are great, run a clean site - me likes. I spend too much time reading this stuff, not enough time plotting to overthrow the government or kill off my momma, and that's important stuff to me, as many of you know. Good luck to Isiah this summer, he's going to need it.
And like that he's gone ....
