Also with the usa training camp he showed a much imporved post game, at least he was practicing his moves inside against all the next Gen bigs.

In 10 years all Tyson developed was a beard....

What you talking about Eny?

Tyson works hard as hell in the gym, especially on "Leg Day"!

The dude needs to stick a jump shot. Oakley became a legit shooter from 15-18 ft out. Chandler needs that. Too often he's just open and guys are leaving him like that. Indians packed inside in him Cuz he is no threat to do anything. Knicks need him to be working on his game not just trying to get his guns right for picture day.

Bash-tyson thread?
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Just cuz he working on it don't mean he'll use it. Dude got his contract, mispelling Tatoos and public about his workouts.

All players under contract are working on their games now.

Just cuz a player is not public don't mean he is not working on his game.

Tyson is what he is, and thats fine, he is good at doing that. On the other hand, Amare Stoudemire used to be a knock-down shooter during 2010/2011 which made him one of the best bigs in the league, and his jumper fell off significantly since then. I know the injuries are to blame for a lot, but that is one part of his game that has really disappointed me. It was the same part of his game that made me believe that he would age well and was adjusting his game for when his physical abilities decline.

Tyson didn't win the title alone. He was a 20 something min a game role player, energy guy that was the final piece to their puzzle that year in Dallas. So good they let him walk.

Dpoy he was granted that on the back of Mike woodsons defensive schemes. Plus the Knicks were the worst defensive team for years and it just so happens he comes to the team when they improve. He was given too much credit for that. He did hold Dwight Howard to his worst numbers of the year in all 4 times they played Orlando. I'll give him that.

Dude still can't make a layup and he can't shoot or make a shot period unless a point guard is lobbing it to him for a wide open dunk.

Dude needed a him shot 8 years ago. He needed a jumper 5 years ago. How do you not get better? He doesn't add anything. How does he get better? I don't get it.

Hibbert killed him. No excuses. You put in the uniform and play so you are healthy. I have no respect for him. Dude complains after every whistle. Where is the leadership? total bull****.

In his defence, Tyson has knocked down a jumper last season.

He has claimed to have a jumper out to 15ft. Don't know how much confidence he has in it though.

Tyson should be able to knock down 15 footers. Look he is not a bad foul shooter.

You can always improve upon things but from experience I'm a big believer in the 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' saying and I think that firmly applies here...A little too late in the game for Chandler to bust out some reliable/go-to mid-range jumper and increase the scoring output. I hope to God I'm wrong but I just don't see that from him. The skill's not there for it and, judging by the excuses he makes all the time for everything, neither is the mindset....Not looking to reinvent the wheel with Chandler. All I wanna see from this guy is for him to focus on what he does well, bring it every damn night and be accountable. Here's where he can subtly improve: continue to average double-digit rebounds--this year in particular, focus on being more consistent game in and game out with it---no more 17-20 reb games followed up by several games where he takes the night off and only grabs 5). I'd like to see them run the lob for him more at the rim too. It's high %, he's a powerful finisher with it, it's exciting and it pumps everyone up--Chandler, his teammates and the fans. Our PGs need to look for it more but Chandler also needs to roll more and make himself a target for it more. I'd also like to see him finish little bunnies around the rim much better too. FT shooting could also use some improvement. Needs to get it back up to the mid 70% level he was at the 2 years before NY (Charlotte and Dallas). Forget the 15 footer -- focus on improving upon what's already there in these areas and I'll be happy.

Larry Sanders, meanwhile, has a very good chance of broadening his offensive game. This man was shooting and hitting 3 pointers all around the perimeter in the Draft Combine a couple of years ago with very good form. Unlike Chandler, I can see this guy becoming a much better offensive player in time. As is, I already see a better version of Keon Clark but I think the ceiling is much higher than that. We'll see...

well said..Tyson is what he is..and im fine with that. the key is keeping him fresh for the spring. i dont expect kareem or hakeem from him...hes there fore defense and rebounding

PS Larry Sanders could be a star or at least a future DPOY candidate

Nobody expects Tyson to all of a sudden become a scorer. It's not too much for Tyson to develop basic basketball skills after 10 years playing pro. A basic jumpshot and a servicable hook shot is not asking Alot. Dude can't even lay the ball up of the glass.

They should lob the ball more to him? If they gave me a jump shot at the foul line I would hit 50% of them. But life isn't that easy and this is a team game. If you need to give a guy the ball one specific way for then to be effective then you are a liability

So
1) he's never had a shot. So shoot him.
2) he was a title piece. Hmmmm. How did that happen without a shot?
3) Woody won him the DPOY on what had been the worst defensive team in the league. Right. Guess they should have given the award to...Sheed? KT? The whiteboard?
4) He had one pathetic series against Hibbert and injury is no excuse. Check.

You sound angry. Do you miss DLee in the middle? Amare whining and stomping after every foul call?

If you read most of the posts in here, we've apparently got lots of offensive weapons, (read: chuckers) actually. Do we really need Tyson to become Chris Bosh? Or Rashweed?

Sad part is Tyson does have a decent jumper but he is so concerned with statpadding his fg% that he doesn't use it.

A lot of players, especially centers work on their jumpshot during the offseaon, the problem is finding the confidence to use it in actual games. I don't think Tyson's problem is lack of effort, he just seems to lack the confidence to use his jumper more often.
