Our playoff chances do not rest in the hands of Chandler. We're talking about a rebounder and defender. Do we need him to be effective? Yes....should we be relying on him to do anything? No....we need to look at him for who he is....he is not Bill Russell. Tyson is 10/10 with 1.3 blocks per game.....it's not like he is 15/15/3....

Tyson Chandler is who he is. AN ENERGY GUY!!! That's it....He's not Bill Russell.

Tyson was a journey man looking on his way out the league when he was in Charlotte....nobody wants to talk about that. He goes to Dallas and now he is Moses Malone who brought a championship the way he did in Philly??? Dude hasn't gotten better his whole career....Chris Paul saved his career also when he was wwith NO....

So now he's this leader and whatever....

Tyson will be fine. We just need to make sure we don't overuse him. It's not like Tyson is a dominant C. He is a solid piece but this team needed to give him help last year and the old guys we had on the roster weren't able to do that. Tyson isn't a big rugged guy that you can just leave out there and let him take on every big on the other team with no help and no break. He's not Shaq. He can help you win, but you don't want to wear him down.

Dude i think you need to calm down a bit. I never said he was the main guy. However Tyson is our best bigman and if we are going to get past physical teams like Indy and Chicago then we need him to be on the top of his game. So you GTHOH

worst part of an otherwise good off season is that grunwald couldn't unload this guy.

i can't believe he's gonna show his face again in a knicks uniform.

tyson is a disgrace to the franchise.

I like tyson but he is very overpaid. He has no offensive game other than the occasional dunk. If i were tyson i would have been working hard this summer after the way hibbert abused him

I agree with the Energy Guy assessment. He should be coming in off the bench and stirring things up. He wasn't the main big man in Dallas, he was a huge role player though. I think the Knicks are asking him to do too much. He does best as part of a big man by committee squad. I think that was part of the reason Camby was brought in but he never produced (watch him play 82 games this year) - it would have been a powerful combo if it had been a few years ago.

I'm with Eny on this Chandler bring very little to the table. I feel he is way overrated and on the down side of his career. The fact that he never upped his game speaks volumes about Chandler. He is an example of a player that will do nothing to improve his game because he got paid. Overrated and over paid.

At least he is working and giving effort in the gym to regain that strength, mobility, balance, athleticism, and working on his game, hope he returns back to his first year player that we signed as our anchor/leader/heart of our DEFENSE

In all seriousness, he is a role player that never had a supporting cast of defenders, especially a PF that compliments him *his best was Jared Jeffries and they did very well together and was a big part of our DEFENSE during "Linsanity"*

Woodson never utilized Kmart with Chandler till very late in the year, not being able to build chemistry/cohesion between the 2 with the rest of the rotation
They only played together in the Pacer's series in the play offs but they were unable to develop chemistry/work on spacing with the rest of the rotation

Hopefully with his work this summer and adding a rotation of DEFENSIVE minded players, in a healthy Iman Shumpert, JR Smith, Ron Artest, Kmart, and possibly a combo guard like Tourre Murry/Darius Morris and a SF/PF like James Johnson, a backup C in Darko, in a full season with training camp/practice, will elevate our DEFENSE to the next level that is needed to make us legit championship contenders

PHYSICAL STRENGTH isn't the measure of production in the NBA, just look at Durant, he is as weak as they come in the gym especially as an ALL STAR ATHLETE but plays much bigger/stronger in the game

absolutely true, and for some players it's more important than others,

and when hibbert abuses you in the playoffs like that, your focus should be your center and your legs, not your biceps.

I put up with Layden, with Isiah, with Anucha-gate. I sat by while Larry Brown took a dump on this franchise. I watched Marbury declare us formidable and then chase down a jar of vaseline. I've watched Michael Sweetney, Eddy Curry, and Jerome James eat themselves out of the league. Too many 33 win seasons to recall.

And now this, this is what you subject us to?! Come on Tyson, too ****ing far man!

To me, it looks like the other three were hanging out, having an enjoyable afternoon, then Justin Bieber came along and begged for them to take their picture with him. Look at their faces, they all look like they're all hoping he leaves soon.
